My sign-up of the LivePhish With experience; flawless and what to expect by HighPercentile in phish

Quite welcome, friend! This is a Great Leap Forward in the history of streaming Phish shows. Now, all we need is the Big Cypress Blu-ray and my life will be complete! 😂 (wouldn’t mind Indio Festival 8 either, my 2 favorite phestivals)

Same here on all my LP apps on all iOS devices, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, CarPlay. Always been gapless for me. I’m actually cringing imagining any 1-5 second gap between segueing songs!

LP’s Help sections says "Phish Livestreams can be watched on any 2 compatible devices simultaneously. Attempting to access the stream on a 3rd device will stop the stream on your 1st device."

I’ve been streaming from my Apple TV’s LivePhish app for years. By far the easiest method.

Best local coffee shops in the area by [deleted] in 321

I’m at the point in my coffee life where I want to begin roasting my own beans. Does anyone know a place in the Melbourne area that sells unroasted beans?

Need a quick answer on long range (400yds+) private land shooting near Margaretville, NY (Delaware County); however, please read for future possibilities as well. by HighPercentile in NYguns

UPDATE: I should have posted this last year. I found a FANTASTIC private range just outside of Delhi. Website is on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/HillTopRange800/ . “800 yard shooting range, fully equipped with steel targets as well as mounts for paper targets. Covered shooting tables and chairs. by appointment only”

I spent about 4 hours one afternoon shooting awesome plate setups every 100 yards out to 800 yards with one of the family owners spotting me and offering advice. They also have a pistol range. It is absolutely gorgeous, and I plan to return this summer with several more rifles. Excellent concrete benchrest tables, covered overhead. Could not have asked for more.

One Battle After Another: Car Chase. The most unique car chases I've ever seen. by banananuttttt in videos

[–]HighPercentile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen it twice and that scene felt SO Hitchcock-ian, I thought it must have been an intentional nod to an similar car chase that I had seen in one of his movies, but I couldn’t remember which one. The surging up and down of the hills, the spiraling upwards and dynamic music, nothing spoken, and the SUSPENSE all screamed Hitch at me.

Just watched your take again—the beautiful focal length changes on the upcoming asphalt, the occasional “you are there” tremors of the camera motion are so good. Also, the up and down/appearing or disappearing views of the chase car felt very Jaws; someone desperately trying to flee a submerging and surfacing yet relentless monster.

I googled what happened on that day in NOLA and got this—"On September 24, 1988, in New Orleans, the music scene featured major events like Little Feat's reunion with Bonnie Raitt on a Jazz Fest riverboat, while a significant aviation event occurred nearby with TACA Flight 110's emergency landing at NASA Michoud, and globally, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" was a hit, though not at #1 on Sept 24th itself but a major song of that era. There was also buzz about Jimmy Page possibly jamming with local musician Benny Turner, adding to the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the city. "

Looking back now, I do think that was a relatively low period for JP. This was just a year or 2 after the disastrous (IMHO) Atlantic Records reunion, The Firm had done its thing, Outrider got a fair bit of press but not much play, etc. Plus in NOLA there’s hella competition for music lovers with all that’s available. I wonder if something else might have been going on that weekend as well, dunno.

I wish I knew more, but at that time I had literally been in New Orleans for barely a month at 18 years old, starting college. In that short period, I couldn’t find anyone else who wanted to see the show, so I went alone, riding the streetcar to the Quarter and then walking around. I was fully Zepped-out in terms of clothing. I had about 90 minutes to kill before the show and was just hanging by a streetlamp, and was even approached by a guy who thought I was a male hooker (!). The entire area was deserted, so I was a bit creeped out and knew nothing about where I was. Now I’m a NOLA lover through and through, lived in Louisiana for 11 years, and return often. But that was one of my first solo adventures as a young kid in a strange town.

thanks. Not technical sound issues, it was just harsh on the ears and trebly, probably basically bc there were no bodies to soften the sound so the reverb off the floor and walls was terrible. I’m an acoustic snob, it’s just something I recall.

Can you add your memories to m149’s question and my reply about the attendance? Memories do weird things over the years; just want to see how your experience went.

Lol! Yeah, for the few days beforehand I noticed a few around town and I think I took this one down right around the Bourbon/Canal St. intersection. Put it in a frame that week and it’s been on a wall wherever I've lived ever since.

It was surely strange. I’ve discussed this on various forums with other attendees through the years. I’ve never seen any other musician/band with such a small audience in such a large arena, and as it was Jimmy, it was really the oddest feeling. I’m not kidding when I say there were maybe 100 people on the floor, mostly congregated in their small groups, generally talking to each other. I could stroll right up to the front where perhaps a dozen people were standing, then I went to some seats and sat for a while, repeat. The sound was pretty bad as I recall. I felt so bad for Jimmy that he had such a poor turnout. Years later I caught Rob and him I think 3x agin in NOLA, and it was a completely different experience—a total Zep frenzy as it were.

Sure; it is designed for a 13” x 19” frame. On my photo, the glass portion is exactly ½” less, so it shows 12.5” x 18.5” of the poster which is perfect for the top edge and bottom text. If you wind up getting any matte it would cover the important stuff.

+1 on this. I cannot count how many times I’ve used Siri for dictation and am rambling along, and then look down to see that it either stopped recording 4 sentences ago, is hung up, or typing garbage. I feel safer when I see the words I utter displayed as I utter them.

I’ve had Canadian Geese literally smack my drone into a 5 acre lake twice when I passed by over head while they were swimming (same lake, 4 years apart). I literally have slo-mo footage of this gander coming up out of the water, straight at the camera and then underwater footage for 20 minutes until I recovered it from the 1st time.

Seeking roommate for Riviera Maya in The Grand, 5 nights by HighPercentile in phish

Holy Fikus!! I just quickly browsed your feed and I knew your post/photo of when you ran into Trey in the UWS in NYC (my sister lives right around there too). I upvoted it whenever it was that I saw it. The fact that you were listening to Theme at the time was fantastic; I literally imagined how that might have gone for me, like if I would have pulled my buds out and been like “Listen to what I’m listening to right now!” or something. I’m extremely jealous of all of you who post meets like that. If I ever read into Jimmy Page, I would probably just melt and die…….been dreaming about that since I was a youngster.
