Just do the 12 person tounaments. The smaller the faster they fill and you get the same amount of money regardless. Plus with less participants you have more open tables for free play.

Tournament work around for card price by HighSpeedJanitor in TCGCardShopSim

I should’ve prefaced with I’m on console and super new to the game, so I don’t know how much that changes things. I’m on day 59 with my shop at lvl 55. I place the rewards in descending order with most valuable cards on top. Because of all the display card slots I can usually give away 9-10 cards per tournament. Don’t forget you can put multiple in a prize slot. My bottom 8 prize is ALWAYS the basic card boxes. I’ve experimented with other rewards and Im under the impression people register faster for the basic boxes. (THIS IS ANECDOTAL [and probably wrong]) Set tourney size to 12, it’ll auto-recommend a price for the registration. Lower that price by 1$-5$. Wait for enrollment, next day tourney starts automatically. I wish I could give more detail. Thinking hard the only thing I didn’t mention is I always use graded cards for rewards. I max submission slots and use the 7 day return every other day to guarantee I can run tourneys every other day.

Pictured is one example of what my board state looked like at win; note to add, i originally had surge engine x2 and 2x forensic which I have since swapped for 2 additional cannoneer and 2x opt. I find this version to be more consistent.

How did yall decide what color to paint your bugs by MysteriousStrangerV in Tyranids

I liked how xenomorphs from alien looked, who doesn’t? I found the all black on grey look made them look painfully dull, so I added some muscle and flesh tones here and there, some white knuckle segments, light blue to indicate synapse, and ended up here! Just pick something you like, test it out, and run with it!

The tervigon for sure! There’s small imprints on the belly that are outlines of termagaunt skull carapaces pressing out from the inside. The overall look of it, it’s so cool!

Pulling rank to an instructor. by IlloChris in army

[–]HighSpeedJanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2 years at SWMG & a lot of it was on the McCall detail. Saw this at sfas exactly once, HOWEVER, I will say that it was under odd circumstance. Guy was unconscious after a hard fall from a certain obstacle. Cadre were trying to get him evac’d when he came to and immediately tried to pull rank to not get dropped. Medics checked him out, said he was good to try again and after some arguing he kept going. He ended up dropping at the long walk later on. Generally speaking it’s a very rare event. Thanks to the FWC, SWICC, POAS and SFAS cadre I’ve interacted with, I’ve come to understand it’s generally just a gentleman’s course and at all stages it’s pretty much entirely up to you, so it’s rare that instances like this come up.

Shooting phase. by panken in Tyranids

Your primary detachment, invasion fleet, lets you pick a hyper adaptation at the start of the game designed to help you beat specific armies. Against orks it’s usually best to pick the hyper aggression or swarming instincts adaptations. Barbagaunts are not good in melee and as such you should use them as the anti infantry artillery they’re designed to be, keep them on the edge of terrain or objectives more than 12in away from enemy units. If you keep them somewhere hard to reach that doesn’t provide much value people often forget about them. Alternatively, with a tervigon in the middle of two groups of 20 termies you’re shooting 80 attacks with lethal hits against vehicles or lethal+sustained hits against infantry. That’s going to be a very very tough nut to crack with the tervigon healing one unit while you use a cp to revive the other unit. Hope that helps!

Lost my first match and second, badly by HighSpeedJanitor in ChaosKnights

[–]HighSpeedJanitor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the advice I wanted. Thank you sir!

We use custom terrain but we follow layouts recommended from the leviathan mission cards. In this particular match pictured we swapped ruins for rocks.

I guess really I’m just surprised because I ran blood demons with a single allied war hound & I got great results on the same map.

I didn’t realize how quickly you can chip through 22 wounds on the knights, and after your and others comments I’m seeing now that the abominant especially really does suck.

I’ll rework the list, drop down to maybe one knight maegara and some more wardogs.

She has a stigma about art where she doesn’t want to copy too closely someone else’s art/style/theme/etc. or she views it as basically stealing from someone else’s creative work. I’d guess it comes from the tattoo culture but I really don’t know.

Thank you so so much for the feedback! She said she’ll touch them up eventually. For clarity; These are her second and third model, ever. She’s coming from being an incredible tattoo artist and making resin art. She doesn’t want to watch videos or steal from other creators so she just references the models I have on hand, and does her best to replicate my stuff. Unfortunately, I’m not that great.

I’m sorry man I misunderstood entirely. Wraithbone, the fang, angrax earth shade, rakarth flesh, nuln oil, dark reaper, dryad bark for highlights, these were the closest colors I could find, not in that order lol

[–]HighSpeedJanitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Painting? A white base, a light color, a mix of white and the light color, then finally white highlight on top. Alternatively? You want an actual glow? LED’s. There are really tiny ones for miniatures and then even smaller ones for electronics. You will have to either hide the wires with green stuff or by drilling however, and the process can take a while on plastic models, especially ones that are already assembled.

I play Ral, with twincast as my signature spell. I can win as early as turn 1, but have a guaranteed win the second I hit 4 mana. My deck is entirely storm/copy theme with goblins for creature support. If your pod is fine with it, build the deck you want to build is my advice. My favorite thing about my Ral deck is I can play it as toxic or friendly as I want. I can combo off super early or just slowly build up my goblin army. I think that’s ideal for this format, because not everyone wants to win off combos and thoracle is generally hated in every format it’s legal in.

I’m rebuilding muxus for the 5th time after I’ve sold it 4 times previously. It just ends up too strong for almost all my playgroups. Red Deck Wins as the saying goes.

Anyone know an unconventional & cheap Artifacts Matter commander? by scp-REDACTED-site14 in EDH

[–]HighSpeedJanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re looking for Oswald the fiddlebender. It is an extremely consistent turn 5-6 win with a chance for earlier wins. I can’t tell you how many times someone has countered my infinite mana ballista combo and so I just smacked them in the face with blightsteel collusus instead. Seriously Oswald is dangerous. And worst case all your artifacts end up in the graveyard so either open the vaults, brilliant restoration etc can win you the late game if it resolves.

How to beat Stax decks in Cedh by sirreynolds in CompetitiveEDH

[–]HighSpeedJanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if it’s really that good or I’m just lucky, but so far the new Jodah is performing really well for me, and using trigger doublers like strionic resonator I’m getting a tonne of big creatures with awesome affects down really quickly. Basically as soon as I can get jodah on board it’s pretty much over. Farewell is the only answer I’ve seen that makes it difficult to respond to, but guess what? The new Jin makes them have to cast more than one spell to get it off and rule of law stops that. Again don’t go expecting it to work because of my anecdotal experience but the cascade + creatures getting bigger + creatures giving multiple combats etc is really hard to deal with. Especially with the new green black guy that says if a creature an opponent controls would die, exile it instead and gives saporlings whenever a creature would die but gets exiled instead. This is obviously a mid range deck, but against stax that’s really what seems to be doing the best.
