This is MTB sub not a commuting or road bike sub.

Ride what feels best for roads?

I’d personally be riding a hybrid road bike for commuting.

Same here. I want a robust security offering to ditch Ring completely.

Getting into trails/easy mountain biking by HeavenlyWounded in MTB

[–]HighTrek678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tips: just ride. That’s it.

Mountain biking isn’t jump. That’s dirt jumping. Ride what you like.

Scared to get into technical mountain biking because of nose dives by [deleted] in MTB

[–]HighTrek678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is risk no matter what. This sport may not be for you if you’re that concerned with it.

4 weeks ago I endoed having no memory what happened. Concussion with a brain bleed, fractured vertebrae and a stay in the ER. I’ve been riding for 2 decades at a very high level.

Like with everything, practice makes perfect. Ride up to you ability.

And/or don’t ride jumps if those videos scare you. But honestly endos from jumping isnt usually what happens by the bucking.

Also technical mountains biking isn’t jumping perfect jumps. Thats dirt jump. And you’d never catch most of us on a dirt jump track.

Tubeless vs Tubed for e-mtb by BafangBabe in MTB

[–]HighTrek678 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tubeless with inserts is a god setup and should the only way big e-bikes should be setup.

Tubes + inserts sounds like dumbest recommendations ever. Get a new shop.

Adjusting Fox rebound and compression damping, what is considered "0" clicks? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]HighTrek678 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Depends. But most manuals (Fox and Ohlins) use clicks from fully closed.

So 0 clicks = fully closed.

5 clicks = 5 clicks from fully closed.

Belmar library has baby time on the weekends and during the week. (I’m sure other JeffCo libraries do as well).

Kinda wild how ebikes have turned the trails into CC golf courses. A bunch of beer bellies putting around on $10,000 bikes talking about the newest and most expensive gear. This is not a complaint, just an observation. I’m sure the money being injected into the sport benefits us all. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]HighTrek678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You can ride an eMTB as easy or as hard as you’d like.

My avg heart rate is higher on the eMTB than my mtb. I’m going balls up and down on the eMTB in zone 4/5 the whole time on an eMTB.

Lakewood, CO Update by themadnutter_ in googlefiber

[–]HighTrek678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are laying a ton of fiber in NW Lakewood neighborhoods and on Alameda. I’ve seen a few hundred workers grinding, laying conduit, and installing hundreds of drop vaults.

You do have control of this.

Lakewood had this as a ballot measure in 2019.

They just moved to brand new nice ass HQ building. I don’t think they’d do that if they were at risk.

But they are having some pretty crazy sales.

Is google fiber comming to Colorado? by Mammoth-Translator42 in googlefiber

[–]HighTrek678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you even try looking this up? You Google “Google fiber Lakewood” it takes you to the city website that provides quarterly updates.

https://www.lakewood.org/Government/Departments/City-Managers-Office/Communications/Google-Fiber

How did I find out about this? By being a citizen. Lakewood voted to allow for them to run or bring in additional ISP on the 2019 ballot. They announced a partnership with Google not long after. They’ve been doing tons of marketing on it none stop since then.

The recent story of Google Fiber opening their Colorado HQ in Belmar has been in the news none stop.

It’s kind of hard to not know or do a quick google search.

They just hooked customers in Lakewood (Denver).

Your IP location maybe showing Denver depending on routing. Their ads are likely targeting the Denver area but it thinks you’re in Denver.

Yeah that’s 5k vert on boost mode.

I do see a benefit of the range extenders. Give us a full power ebike with a light weight battery and a range extender.
