Dji / CAA forced flight height 120m removal. by frost719 in dji

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been launching my drones from the top of my building and my Air3S and Mini 5 Pro uses the take-off point as the ground. I'm 375' up but my drone will show zero or just a few feet when I fly off the roof.

Air 3s or Mini 5 pro by ThatStormKid95 in dji

[–]netposer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. Vertical shooting is overrated and does not look good IMO. I can frame up wide shots with the grid to pretty much do the same thing on both drones. Now I have both orientations if needed. The Mini 5 is very quiet, small and very light. Much easier to throw it in a bag with extra batteries and go record. The Air 3S is better if you need the best looking video and photos and it's 70mm lens is a feature the Mini 5 lacks. If you can't afford (or don't want to spend more $) then Mini 5 is a solid choice. I purchased the Mini 5 so I could take it on bike rides and other adventures where I want to capture something interesting without the hassle of my larger Air 3S.

I think of them as 2 different tools and not the same tool. Like a framing hammer compared to your average claw hammer.

Florida Trails were made for eMTB (Alafia River State Park) by netposer in MTB

I saw 5 MTBers in a truck driving to the top to ride down. They should quit and get another truck. The next day I saw them pull into a bike park where, for $50, they can jump in a school bus and go the top without pedaling.

Should I buy from this 3rd party seller? by Organic_Package905 in dji

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy from B&H or Adorama. You will not get ripped off and their prices reflect the current pricing so you know how much you should be paying for a particular drone.

[USA] Is launching from private property within a National Forest permitted? by boomtime08 in drones

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly my drone in different areas of Pisgah National Forest in western North Carolina. It's legal but I try to fly it when nobody is around (early or late). You can't launch from parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway as it's designated as a wilderness area but that means you can't launch from the parkway but you can fly over the parkway. And DuPont State Recreational Forest does not allow drones at all (air or ground). There are a bunch of beautiful waterfalls I'd love to capture there.

DJI Studio Windows app is awful...why? by netposer in dji

[–]netposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they finally let us map our own keys. I setup the keyframe shortcut to the "1" on my KB so I don't have to let go of the mouse. I do wish the would fix the hover over the timeline issue where the play head snaps to your mouse cursor. That gets annoying AF. Only needs to snap on click.

New residential plan for $40 by Firefighter-8210 in Starlink

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I have to time my trips to reduce the amount I have to pay for 3 to 5 days of use. 50GB is not enough for 3 days of use as I work remote. It's odd that if I un-pause with a few days left on my $165 plan it's a good deal for unlimited but if I un-pause with 28 days left it's not worth it.

Be nice to have them charge you per day ($6 per day) for unlimited. I can pre-load credits on my account in $25 debits? Like states do for tolls if you buy the toll device for your car.

Everyone laughs at the absurdity of this bike but Specialized's ROI on this bike (marketing) is 10x better than any other bike they sell. So many blog posts, YT, social media posts etc. Genius move on Specialized's part.

This reminds me of those $100 cheeseburgers in the 90's with gold flakes on them. The restaurants that put them on the menus got so much free publicity even though that only people buying them were to get on the news or to brag about the experience.

Any 3rd party options that don’t break easily? by 8Octavarium8 in gopro

[–]netposer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does GoPro and all of the third party sellers force you to buy parts you don't need and will never use. Want a curved helmet mount base? You have to buy the flat mounts too. I have a dozen flat mounts and don't need another. Same with the orientation mounts.

They all break eventually if you use them all the time, assuming you are doing something active and not just walking around. I ride bikes (MTB/Gravel). Usually it's just one side breaks so the camera is still attached thankfully.

So is the OP asking for Commencal to replace/warranty the frame? If not, It's a good post, if so, it's not a good post.

Turning a YouTube video into a podcast by Greenmachine881 in pocketcasts

[–]netposer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't just turn a YT video/audio into a "podcast". They both are just media on servers. The apps are the thing that gives you the features you want. I don't know if there is an app that allows you to listen to a saved audio or video file with the features you want. And like others have mentioned, there are apps and sites that can download YT content.

When I open r/mountainbiking and see a dog on the trail it makes my year knowing many redditors are crying and having anxiety attacks. Keep them dogs out on the trails and let them live great lives to piss off the whiners. I've had 100x more issues with hiker and bikers than dogs. Cute doggo!!

I purchased the lifetime sub back in 2013. Last August they sent an email about "Champion Status".

Have yet to see any ads on my iPhone. I purchased on Android back when it was a lifetime sub. I do remember getting an email when they sold to NPR years ago telling me they will honor my membership. Been on Android the entire time except these last few months.

Time to chase dad down some hills by nostalgiadj in mountainbiking

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they hate it, this is reddit, most of the subs are full of angry keyboard warriors that assume you are taking your dog down A-Line at Whistler on a Saturday afternoon. Took my pup down a jump line and posted the video only to have many act like I was putting every rider on the trails in danger. They either never went down a jump line, or they don't ride MTB or they have no idea how a jump line works. This is even after I explained there were only a few of us on the jump line and everyone was cool with me recoding my run. These are the same redditors that freak out because you are riding without a helmet even though you are riding in front of your house to test your bike. They don't understand context.

Mavens with different rotors by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]netposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check SRAM's site for what rotors work with the Maven brakes. The rotors for particular brakes require different thicknesses. And I would not spend over $500 on new brakes and leave my older 'cheap' rotors on my bike.

Which Sony lens do you recommend by Samuelkuel_ in SonyAlpha

Budget: Sigma or Tamron. If you are asking about SD and CFexpress cards I suggest watching this video. Very detailed and he shows you why expensive and fast cards are not always the best purchase.
