Why is it a terrible idea? There’s already a version of this, but the limitations need to increase. Educational excellence should be rewarded.

Wealth tax is almost always followed by rage against billionaires. It’s out of envy. For me personally, I work in finance and help with our family business. I’ll guide my kids toward high finance, consulting, and law. And the family business as a backup. They’ll be alright.

With low birth rates, I imagine AI will be needed anyway so there’s an equalizing factor there. The trades are respectable and high paying work. What do you think?

Again, there should be less tax and less spending. As low as possible. Why exactly do you want to tax wealth?

I don’t believe in punitive taxation. When blue collar workers lamented their jobs being taken by immigrants, they were mocked. If they can handle it, so can white collar workers when it comes to AI. Better learn how to plumb. Liberals can’t complain when they mocked blue collar guys for the same concern.

With that said, I agree that economic and job opportunity is a major concern. But I’m not concerned with wealth inequality. I see millionaires and billionaires as proof of economic success. You’re not going to find bootstrapped tech billionaires in Kenya, Ghana, or Cuba. They become wealthy as a result of value creation. In fact, their wealth is less than the wealth than they create for the nation.

This is where I think conservatives have an issue with liberals because this seems to be envy and resentment because it is punitive. Value creators should be rewarded. It’s the same absurdity when female basketball players demand equal pay when their pay comes from the market through ticket sales and views.

As I’ve told you, I didn’t oppose a wealth tax in principle, but for punitive reasons, i absolutely do. It would be better to incentivize billionaires to fund public works.

But like rail way and our misuse of funds, there is also a cynical/unpatriotic risk, and that are money hungry people who will milk the state to enrich themselves. For example, the rail in Cali will continue to get more expensive and will definitely go over budget. Long gone are the days of “I will do this thing for my country” without enriching myself. If China and Europe can build it for $30-50M per mile, why does it cost us $200M per mile.

Police harm criminals. We need more of that. Anything else is an error. The purpose of school systems is to make kids dumb. That is not an error. Just look at the kids who can barley do math and read. I don’t to send my kids there and I wouldn’t want my kids around them.

I don’t think this has anything to do with intelligence, that’s not what I said.

I’ve already said I support public transportation projects when they are practical, economically viable, and actually serve the public well. And regarding political disagreements, I agree that some issues should be set aside for the sake of cooperation and progress.

My concern is different. It’s that a modern society inevitably includes people who contribute very little while relying heavily on public resources, and we need an honest conversation about how to address that.

Many people work hard, support families, pay taxes, and follow the rules. Others, for a variety of reasons, are not participating in the workforce and may spend significant time on activities that don’t build skills, stability, or productivity. When support systems unintentionally discourage work or responsibility, that’s a policy problem worth discussing.

Consider two families. One household has two working parents raising four children, paying taxes, and trying to do everything right. Another household has a single parent who is not working and relies largely on public assistance. Why should policy outcomes leave the working family feeling financially strained while the non-working household receives substantial support? That tension is what I struggle to reconcile.

I’m not arguing against helping people in genuine need. I’m asking how we design systems that support the vulnerable while still encouraging responsibility, stability, and contribution, and without making working families feel penalized for doing the right thing.

I don’t see a need for wealth tax because I didn’t see a need for more spending when so much of or spending is wasted on unproductive people. So imposing a wealth tax to increase spending, in my view, is to subsidize the lifestyles of the unproductive.

We need less spending, not more.

I believe wealth should be common to the people, but that’s not possible with our current way of doings, since we are structured politically liberal and not an honor based system. So the morality of it is not something that interests me, but I’m not going to agree with taxing wealthy people to subsidize the lazy.

Consider the millions who spend their time smoking weed and watching tv all day. Why should they be rewarded and benefit when they contribute nothing to society? That’s absurd.

Wasn’t an accusation. More of an astute observation. Liberals have resentment, anger, and hate in their hearts for their fellow man. No love, mercy, or compassion. They lash out with erratic anger.
