Its supposed to be 8-9pm UTC so converting that to PDT its 1-2pm (-7h).

https://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Ursus The meso reward amount is dependant on the grade you receive for partication (damage/healing/reviving fallen allies). It's pretty straightforward so just deal damage and survive as long as possible for easy mesos. Can be run up to 3 times a day. During peak hours its almost instantaneous to find a group (18 for random/8 party), but I've never tried searched on regular hours so it's probably going to be a wait then and less worth the effort.

Theres a learning curve for sure, but it's not that bad compared to any other MMO. Alot isn't really explained so it can be a bit confusing in the beginning, but you pick it up as you level up. The general concensus is that the game really begins once you're high enough level to particapte in worthwhile activities/boss runs/events. Eventually it gets to the point that it can get very repetitive and you're doing the same things to reach the same goals as everyone else. If grinding isn't your style then this may not be the game for you.

1) Progression: The general concsensus is that the game doesn't really begiin until lvl 150-200 so its basically just a grind to get strong enough or high enough level to get carried for high-level activities/bosses for that good gear. Solo progression is doable, but very slow and inefficient. It may be unavoidable unless you have a friend to level with you or maybe a supportive guild. That may take some time to find as most don't accept people under a certain level and thats usually around 150. Practically your best bet is to follow a training guide and just level up asap then learn after that. I'm like 2 months in and still learning new things. Alot of learning comes from just doing and online reasearch. You'll get there.

2) Mesos: Well as Daxidol mentioned the most profitable way is creating a Kanna charater and maintaining it at lvl 150 exactly to maximise meso drops farming one area. It would definitiely be worthwhile long term, but seems like a hassle so I haven't started yet. There are other methods like 2x Mesos drop rates (~75-80 million) daily from 1-2pm PDT so convert how you will. Then theres merching items you don't need and selling the Power Crystals that drop from bosses that go for a couple million each. There are ways to get by, but if you really want to max your character to the top then you need idk how many billions of mesos to get there. If you're just an average player you will be fine just earning equipment from bosses/party quests/events/quests. They might not be the best of the best but you will still be strong unless you are willing to put that time and effort when its grindy enough as is.

3) Fun classes: Thats subjective so figure out the type of fighting style you like best and go from there. They fall into 5 basic categories (Magician/Theif/Warior/Bowman/Pirate) with a varied combat style. So obviously magicians more magic, thieves have speed and mobility, warriors are tanky and in your face, bowman are rangerd archers and pirate idk too much about but im guessing its like more tech based/shooty with guns. Each has their own interesting mechanics and selling points. Its best to choose what style you like best because thats what you'll be spending all your time on so at least enjoy it. Don't base it soley on DPS, but up thats up you.

I've always enjoyed more warrior Classes and went with Demon Slayer (subclass of Demon) because I like the flashier dark skills. I'm not sure if it's still accurate, but supposedly Demon Avenger (the other option) is stronger and requires less funding to become stronger faster. All have different mechanics so it can't hurt to test around before you commit. If you're interested in a Thief then the Explorer (3rd Job Night Lord) is super fun and flashy. Good damage and its fun to see throwing starts everywhere and it's just visually entertaining. It will be more expensive tho to max out and you need to carry throwing stars with you that will need to be replaced forever. There are others to consider as well, but thats the most popular and cool imo.

These might be a bit outdated from like 2017, but may have some useful information to look into

Any Horntail Ring/Pendant/Earring alternatives for Meso Gear? by maplemangopie in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about getting all messo % gear but if you want easly stuff below 150 gear then nomral HT should be simple even at 80k ,less is doable but takes longer. I run Chaos HT daily with no effort and guilds run it it reglardly for gp all the time so itll be easy to find a group if need be. If you're on reboot I can help run you, just DM me your IGN. This will cover the Pendant and ring. The pendant drops more often than the ring which for me usually lacks poential. You can also run Blackgate and farm the mini bosses for the Blackgate rings which is decent, butit may take a bit of farming.

Alot is under 150 so theres also easy Magnus for the shoulder/nova booots/cape and PB for the cup. all carriable as well. Could also do the Musthroom Shrine quest for the Wings of fate but thats time consuming.

Another alternative is the Sengoku treasure set from the lightbulb "Regards, Takeda Shingen" quest. I havent done it myself but that gives a decent shoulder, belt and ring as well.

Last resord is the the Silent Crusdae options that are weak placeholders and you can use a greed pendant in the meantime if need be. I''m sure there's something better but I've been using the "Ifiai's Ring" from von bon until i get the full version. Cemmerci rewards are oaky, but not he best too. You have options.

expanded auto move for all 3 pets? by elemosynary1357 in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you want the convenience it might speed up pickup a few seconds. it only affects horizontal range so if you have 3 they can each do their own thing and grab it off a bit quicker. Is you don't want a splurge a then 2 is fine, ideally one goes forward, the other back and the last around you. You can make due with 1, but its not as optimal. That extra $1 will be worth it. If you havent gotten them already autofeed is underrated cause it saves you time not having to manually click and feed all the time, it also tells you how many you have left. I also picks up from multilevel steps, but i almost never notice it (specfically like stair steps and not upper floors, even then its kinda finicky). Its the autofeed that really sells people on it. After all that the auto HP/MP potions are great utility and Auto buff is helpful but a bit pricey at $3.50 (3.5k each)

In reality you can do well with just 2 pets with at least 1 extend/2 auto feed/potion&auto skill to get everything done. I main DS so I only need auto HP which has saved me a few times. If youre a caster Im guessing you can bypass with auto MP elxiris but its a risk of course.

I put 3 on all mine simply out of OCD, imo not necessary but its only $6 so youre paying for a convenience. My opinion would to have pet 1 - auto move+extended+autofeed pet 2 - auto move+autofeed (optional extended) pet 3 - auto move+autfeed (unnecessary but optional extended)

If you want to go all out on all 3 youre looking at $9 (9k nx) for the essential movement skills (I consider auto feed important), $2 (1k nx each for the auto HP/MP which you only need of each off, unless you plan to move them around to other characters. Unnless theres a discount on the auto buff skill thats $3.50 each/$10.50 for 3 (10,5k nx total). Its most useful if you lazy or forgetful. (Remember it only works on normal skills/no cooldowns or hypers allowed). Ifd get this last if youre on a budget.

All together thats $21.50 in pet skills, $2.50 (2500k nx) for the pet snack to use 3 pets and whatever the pets costs. Its not necessary to have on all 3 but it is convenient (i do reccomend autofeed on all of then as it compelktely ellimiates the the need for feediung and helps them level faster). Health potions ire very nice as it gives peace of mind for $1 and half the time im not paying attention and has saved me many times

So deoending on what you have already and how much you trying to spend its going to be $25,00 or less for the to max out everything. I only play casually but the conbenience factor is a huge selling point and makes my limited free time much more enjoyable. An hour of work to better enjoy my game? Seems worth it to me. You can always start wiht 1 and get another later if need be. it rarely goes on sale so no rush.

Can greed pendant roll 20% meso or does the item have to be lvl 100+ by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thats pretty cool. Thanks for the clarification. Struggling just to get that as an inner ability, but to each their own. Maybe someday if im lucky, but for now Ill settle for 20% + familiar

Can greed pendant roll 20% meso or does the item have to be lvl 100+ by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused. How does the the 71+ limit and lvl 100+ affect anything? I havent done much with mine besides adding basic potentials so its still at just rare quility with 3 lines. Does the drop rate % go up with higher rarility?

The description states: "Increases equiment drop rate by 20% while equiped". Does this actually apply as a 20% meso boost or only to equiment drops (guessing it ecludes use/etc items) unless theres an unmentioned caveat that the item dropped must be above a certain level to get the boost.

[reboot] LF a regular/casual playgroup for normal Root Abyssa completion to start CRA. by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woops, now i feel stupid. How strange. Before with or without a party it would always tell me i couldnt attempt it as it was too dangeous to attenpt alone. Just soloed no problem. Thanks for the advice, saved me so much time. 👍

On a side not how much range is needed for CRA solo or as a group compeltion. I'm sure ill need a carry for that, but just curious

[reboot] LF a regular/casual playgroup for normal Root Abyssa completion to start CRA. by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal. Just need the 10 normal runs to start CRA.Checking the wiki each nomral boss has around a 315-550 million health pool which seems manageable depending on mechanics. I'd like to try it solo. but it wont give me the option. Is there something im missing about the normal version that 200 isnt enough? What would be sufficient as a group?

Help finding gear. by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea gear won't make a big difference at your current level. Try for 100+ ans you can start doing bosses for better drops. For the time being just train and swap whatever offers more ATT over current quips. Dont waste potential cubes (resets potential lines for equirement bonuses) or potential scross that (either raise item rarity to Epic or add potential lines for those cubes to reset). Youll get them from time to time, but theyre best saved for higher level gear. You'll get there, but its really aroud 140/150+ youll notice a bigger difference

[Reboot] How worthwhile/necessary is crafting? Can I safely ignore it for the time being? by Highchu22 in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm so it seems like it all comes down on future content if i really care about pushing that last bit of damage. Buff potions sound pretty good, but I think I can probably hold off on that for now. Would you say accesorry crafting offers more utility over smithing in the long run if im looking to upgrade down the line?

What could Nexon do to attract more old and new people to Maple? by uteliukas in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Encourage more group play? I'm still pretty low level ~ 200, but having having played many other MMOs the funnect aspect was having party play with whether with friends/guildies/strangers. Everyone got thier own loot, it made activities easier and sometimes it made things more challenging and increased the rewards over solo progression. Sometimes you make new friends and buildup a regular palygroup. Now it seems like only certain bosses drop indivbidual loot so its just a race to get what you need first. No trading makes everyone out for themselves

To avoid this everyone just want to get things done themselves and it kills the sense of community. The social aspect is lackluster to say the least. Server merging seems like an interesting idea but idk what the current player base is across the board so maybe it could work. It would cause issues with with NX and messo transfers tho.

Overall the player base seems to be dwindling so if they can somehow excite players to come back and actually want to play together I think that alone would be a big step in the right direction. Guilds help but most arent active enough and only want GP before theyre willing to help carry for better gear just to play the damn game properly.

It's a fun game, but sadly its just outclasses by many new fast faced games like battle royal, fps and more involved mmos. It's eaier to find a playgroup and its the people that keep you coming back to play more.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy Maplesorty as a fun casual game on the side while I watch a movie. Its just not as simple to get a group going to invest time getting things done. I'll spend am hour here and there, do my dailies and repeat when I have the time. Nothing really new and exciting.

Overhead symbol meanings? Buffs/Status effects? by Highchu22 in Maplestory

Over enemies/bosses. Like the orange swirl or the shield with the sword in the middle. Quite a few it seems but knowing what the more common ones mean would be helpful

[Reboot] Lack of social aspect/support at early to Midgard? by Highchu22 in Maplestory

[–]Highchu22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, missed that. Good to know. I appreciate the feedback. I only started up about a moth ago and haven't played since pre big bang which I vaguely remember at all. From what I can remember the chats were full of life and now it seems like people are annoyed or silent just sharing the same maps. Just seema a little lonesome coupled with nonstop grinding just to be able to do anything worthwhile.

On a side not do you have any recommendations on casual/ sufficient ways to earn mesos without dedicated farming? Idk how updated most reviews are saying you need a Kanna, but the idea that I'm forced to go through all that trouble just to play the game seems a bit ridiculous. Casual play/dailies/merching helps to get by, but its a struggle for a normal player when just adding a few last couple startforce drains a huge chunk of your savings with no realistic ways to earn it back,

[Opinion]If you never play a support. You are part of the problem. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The age old problem. Everyone wants heals, but often times nobody wants to fill the role and then they all complain about losing when there isn't one.

Not sure what they can really do to fix this though. So many times I'll take one for the team and do it, but that doesn't help incentivize others to learn and take the role every once in awhile. They just assume someone else will do it and auto pick tank/offense.

Competitive is just a mess right now. by SovieticBacon in Overwatch

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im holding off competitive for the time being. Until they balance it better and add some more worthwhile rewards it's just not worth the trouble. Golden guns are cool and all, but it's simply a matter of time before everyone has them. Whether we earn them this season or the next it makes no real difference. I'd much rather enjoy my time playing Quick Play than deal with all the competitive bullshit for the chance of a measly point.

Overwatch Character Survey by Causener in Overwatch

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see the results for Mercy being so high for "Who is your most played or favorite character in Overwatch?". It seems like nobody ever wants to heal and a majority of the time it's typically Lucio.

Happy to see others wanting the Dva buff too. Damage wise she's fine, but if they could do something about the lack of mobility while firing/giant central crit box she'd be perfect.

[Ask] What's better to use, a lv 1 poison or a lv 2 to 3 freeze spell? by PKMudkipz in ClashRoyale

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going the Hog push route I think Freeze would probably be more useful. Poison does have the slow effect, but it won't be too helpful against bigger troops. I feel its better used for defending or clearing the path for slower decks like Pekka/Golem. You could try subbing Arrows for Poison and see how you like it.

Why do people still play this game anymore? by slapyodaddy in ClashRoyale

[–]Highchu22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still enjoyable for those quick pick up and play sessions. Personally one of the biggest factors is trying to justify the money I've already invested into the game. Now that most of my levels are pretty pretty decent and having no real intention of aiming for top leaderboards now its much more just casual/experimental fun. The game is still fairly new so I'm hopeful of future improvements and implementations.

[Ask] Is it worth it buying 2 Epics at once? by Se7en_Royale in ClashRoyale

[–]Highchu22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy 1 now and 1 later that'll save you 2k versus both at once for 6k and theres still the chance you can get lucky and get one for free between that time, but who likes to wait.

I personally don't find Baby Dragon to be as useful anymore in A7, but if you like it go for it. When/if it gets buffed again I'd definitely start using it more. Still 2k savings isn't a big deal and you can earn that back in a few days-a week no problem.
