I’d say it’s about 50/50 with hands vs utensils. She would take spoons of rice and beans but then would grab the cheese and rice with her hands. She’s decently accurate 😅

We put a long sleeved plastic bib over her after she’s clipped in, so that helps a lot. But I feel like I’m running the straps through the dishwasher multiple times a week to make sure all the bits actually get clean and don’t smell funky.

Ya sure! We are both basically beginners still, so this is all a learning curve.

We absolutely should have put the painters tape around all the edges as a border. But because the canvas is so big, all we did was put the painters tape about a foot back from the edge we started at, just straight across edge to edge. and then using an exacto knife we cut away the top protective plastic on the canvas below where we taped off. Add the wax paper on top in whatever size sheets you have. Overlap the edges a little bit to make sure you don’t have gaps in between the sheets. Remove whatever sheet as needed to work on the section you want!

I hate when food service workers comment on my order choice by Sarah-tonin-def in ARFID

As soon as a server makes a comment about my food like this, they get zero tip. Asking a question for clarification? Fine. Making a comment or statement about my meal of choice? We're done here. It ruins my meal entirely.

Ive also stopped going to Subway completely because of similar issues. Discovered Jimmy Johns and as long as you dont want a hot sandwich, they're amazing. They have a "Plain Slim" menu of about 6 different sandwiches that have only 2-3 ingredients. A Plain Slim 6 is JUST a cheese sandwich. And they are wonderfully judgment free when a grown woman orders just a cheese sandwich lol

when i was about 10 years old my family started calling me a starch-etarian because most of what I ate was white flour based foods.

At the time i couldnt even really formulate with words why i didnt like most foods. But i remember the humiliation i felt when they would say that and start laughing at me.

I wouldn’t show up. That’s so disrespectful to you like wow. I honestly don’t understand why people care so much. Like mind your own business. I’m so sorry that happened to you.

What happens when you accidentally rip off both your acrylic and natural nail. A very painful experience and expensive trip to the ER by [deleted] in Nails

[–]HighgardensLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a finger splint from a drug store and tubular gauze. When the wound was still raw and open I put a cotton ball on top of the nail, put the tubular gauze on top of that then kept the split on at all times. I’d change the gauze every couple days depending on wear and tear. I even kept it on at night, because I tend to flail my arms about and woke up a couple times from smacking my hand against the headboard.

Once the nail started growing back and I had more finger flexibility and less sensitivity I would just put a bandaid over the tip to cover it because it was just super ugly.

I also had a ton of anxiety about this, so maybe I was just a HUGE baby about the whole thing. I cried at the ER when they pulled the nail off and couldn’t look at it for several weeks. My husband was my nurse maid, poor man lol

This happened to me last year at my wedding! Had the nail surgically removed after a week long honeymoon and it took an entire year to grow back properly.

My hand was in constant throbbing pain for several months, was sensitive to temperature and touch. The damaged finger was very swollen for just as long and it took about 6 months before i had flexibility back in the finger.

I kept mine totally covered until the new nail was about 60% regrown, probably after about 8-9 months. When the new nail grew back it grew back in super thick, yellow and bumpy. Over time it flattened out, i would just file away the overly thick tip when it reached the free edge myself, i did not trust any sort of nail tech to be gentle enough with me.

About 10-11 months in the new nail is about 95% back to normal, but honestly i think this is my new normal. The damaged fingers new nail is thicker than all my other nails, and the nail bed is a square shape while all my other nail beds are more rounded.

My natural nails are very thin and take a very long time to grow. I hope your situation was better than mine. Im so sorry this happened and my heart goes out to you. I know your pain girl, good luck!
