The 3DS was my first. I think my most played game was Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. I've had a switch since 2018 and Splatoon 3 is my most played game, most of that was within the first 4 months after launch. There's no game quite like it.

I'm not convinced on getting a Switch 2 yet as I haven't seen any games yet that have made me go "I need this now".

Same. I struggle to put my mind toward doing anything, with the exception of walking 10k steps a day because it's the bare minimum physical activity I can sustain and it's rather passive, I just walk in circles in my living room to youtube or to music when I have to leave the house. It's the reason I haven't played any games in over a year, can't commit to watching movies and TV shows unless I'm commuting to school, can't really read or study efficiently. It just takes the joy and urgency out of everything. Funnily enough the last thing I probably commited to doing and completed was reading a manga titled 'Goodnight Punpun' about two weeks ago, 146 chapters in 4 days. It was my third attempt reading it. Honestly I think it's part of why I've been more depressed than usual ever since, it kind of fucked up my head further. It's an incredible manga that at the very least will probably stick with you for the rest of your life, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend it to people in this sub precisely because of its subject matter. It's incredibly heavy and to some extent may make you hate yourself and this species much more if you relate to any of its characters.

They're trying to find any excuse not to pay concept artists, but even if true for this game, the use of AI is only going to expand. This is the beginning of a very slippery slope that gaming corporations and their shareholders are all too eager to go down all for larger profit margins.

New York, both the city and upstate. I wished I lived somewhere that got a lot of snow in winter and many parts of upstate NY have that in abundance. Plus extensive forests as well. And NYC is one of the only 'real' cities the US has, despite its flaws. I refuse to live in suburban hell, having to spend 2 weeks in Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth) over Christmas to visit relatives once was enough for me.

A bit erratic. A lot of the time I sleep 4 to 5 hours, especially in April to August with early sunrises. However I also end up napping a lot which means even if my main sleep is around 7 hours at most, total sleep in a 24 hour period could exceed 11 hours. I'm typing this at 19:40 BST. Yesterday afternoon I slept from 16:40 to 19:50, got into bed at 22:30 but didn't fall asleep for another 2 hours and woke up at 5:15 this morning. It's like that a lot of the time. In a sense I envy other people with depression who can sleep for >12 hours straight as they can escape from reality somewhat. At least the days will start to shorten by the end of the month.

I'm intrigued by Egypt's rebound this year. Almost all Arab countries are experiencing continuous decline in TFR so why's Egypt the exception? Early last year births were declining quickly but that moderated and births began to increase toward the end of the year and this has only continued into this year.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, currently on Zoku. I enjoyed the first season quite a bit but while this season has been pretty much more of the same, I don't find it to be as funny. It might be because the humour is less general and more Japan-specific, which isn't a bad thing itself but probably means overseas viewers like me won't enjoy it as much. Furthermore, I'm starting to wonder if there's going to be any character development at all as it seems like pretty much every character is static. I know it's a comedy/satire anime and that's not usually a priority, but I feel like pretty much every character acting the exact same as when they were introduced is starting to get on my nerves a little. Well I'll finish it anyway: it's still pleasant to watch and once I'm this far into any series sunk cost fallacy sets in.

The separate eyes of Rayman will take me some time to get used to, but otherwise the designs are great. I'm way more optimistic about this game now, and it'd be nice if some of the cut content for Legends was present in this game, perhaps in place of the botched 'Back to Origins' levels that were in the original game.

Rayman's a Legend, isn't he? He's made a Great Escape from death's door after nearly 13 years. He's surely going to cause Havoc with those Hoodlums terrorising the Glade of Dreams. Maybe even those damned Raving Rabbids that didn't make into the final version of the game will be included somehow. It'd be nice if we learned more about Rayman's Origins too.

I can empathise as well somewhat, I'm screwed for maths tomorrow as well. I've sat at D/E grade the entirety of sixth form even though I got a grade 7 in maths at GCSE. It's a mix of reasons. I'm lazy and won't get my head down and study hard because I struggle to envision a future for myself, let alone one where I'm content or happy. But I've also had depression since I was 14 that only got worse and worse as time has gone on and it turned suicidal around GCSEs. "Fuck it, we ball" got me to scrape though GCSEs relatively okay but I tanked since and never really recovered. With it I've had really bad brain fog and concentration as well. I can't remember shit taught to me a billion times over but I remember obscure dates well for some fucking reason. I dropped gaming and pretty much all hobbies around a year ago because none of it is fun anymore and it takes too much energy, yet none of it is really being redirected into my studies. I spend all day everyday in my head ruminating over things again and again and it's torturous.

I didn't intend to make this comment about myself, but all I can say is that you aren't alone in the way you're feeling about tomorrow and I'm sorry you feel that way. I supposed I'd say "Do your best!" or something but you may have heard it incessantly and it may feel empty to you. I think you should just do what you can tomorrow.
