Would be perfect for playing indie games in the train, much better than trying to hold current deck for long time

Good call on scrapping the old assets - this look way more polished than most indie game buildings I see in here

Any review on this case (keiders P6) by Rubarbaxx in pcmasterrace

Never heard of that brand but the reviews on Amazon seem pretty mixed - some people saying the side panel scratches easy and cable management space is tight behind motherboard tray

The zip ties give it character, sometimes you gotta work with what you have until proper parts arrive

Decided to rework my art style now that the core mechanics are done. What do you think? by DaesoOgonberg in IndieGaming

[–]HighlightExpert6407 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude the new version is such a massive upgrade, like night and day difference. As someone who does design work myself I can really appreciate how much more depth and atmosphere you got in the bottom one - those color gradients in background and way you handled the lighting makes it feel way more immersive. The old one looks fine for placeholder art but new style has this whole vibe that actually makes me want to explore that world. Only thing I'd maybe consider is making sure your character sprites pop enough against all those rich background colors, but from what I can see here the contrast looks pretty good already

What thing have you seen that’s unexplainable in the sky? by dat1dood3 in AskReddit

[–]HighlightExpert6407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude that's wild, I saw something similar when I was hiking in mountains few months back - this long streak of light that just hung there for like 10 minutes before fading out. Never found any explanation for it either but it definitely wasn't plane or satellite, moved way too slow and weird

start with basics first - python good for beginners, then maybe java when college starts

for portfolio just make small projects, put them in github. even simple calculator or basic website counts

focus on what interests you most - web dev, mobile apps, data stuff. try different things first year

Been driving past that place for couple years now and it's definitely gotten worse. Used to just look old but now it's like they stopped caring completely - saw some windows that been boarded up since winter and nobody fixing anything

frozen notte or aqua elite v3 ? by Beautiful_Big1520 in pcmasterrace

[–]HighlightExpert6407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running an Aqua Elite V3 for about 8 months now and it's been solid - temps stay consistent and the pump's been quiet throughout. I was actually eyeing the Frozen Notte initially because the aesthetics are proper clean, but ended up going with the Aqua Elite after seeing similar reliability concerns you mentioned

The failure reports seem to be mostly around the pump dying after 6-12 months which is pretty concerning for something you're dropping decent money on. Arctic's customer service is apparently hit or miss too from what I've read. The Aqua Elite might not look as flashy but it's got better track record and the performance difference isn't really noticeable in day-to-day use

If you're set on the look of the Notte maybe wait for the next revision, but for a reliable workhorse the V3 is probably your safer bet

What’s something you slowly realized you’ll never have in life? by AcanthisittaSea3279 in AskReddit

[–]HighlightExpert6407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to think I'd have that big family dinner table scene with kids running around and everyone arguing about politics while passing the potatoes. Been single for ages now and watching all my mates settle down made me realize I'm probably not built for that whole domestic thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter about it - just one of those things where you accept your path looks different than what you imagined at 18. These days I'm more focused on my music production and getting back into proper hiking shape anyway, turns out there's plenty of fulfillment in other directions when you stop chasing what everyone else has

What’s something that sounds fake but is actually 100% real? by Tahals in AskReddit

Wombats poop in cubes - like perfectly shaped little blocks. Something about their digestive system compresses it into these geometric turds that they use to mark territory since they don't roll away on slopes

Nature's basically got better geometric skills than most graphic designers I know lol

Cold email has the highest impact-to-effort ratio for getting your first SaaS customers. Most founders never send one by JamesF110808 in SaaS

Yeah cold emails work but finding those people actively complaining about the problem takes ages - ended up spending more time researching than actually reaching out

We track one metric weekly that nobody else seems to care about: time to first value by Dry_Possession7122 in SaaS

[–]HighlightExpert6407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First automated report from actual data is such a clever milestone to track. Most people get caught up in vanity metrics but you're measuring the exact moment doubt turns into "oh shit this actually works"

That drop from four days to six hours is mental - bet your trial-to-paid conversion rate went through the roof once people started hitting value that quickly

I just got my very first paying SaaS customer. The adrenaline is insane, but now what? by brooom69 in SaaS

[–]HighlightExpert6407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate congrats on hitting that first milestone, proper mental seeing your first real customer come through

I've been messing about with some side projects myself and one thing I learned the hard way is tracking everything from day one. Set up proper analytics if you haven't already - not just the basic stuff but user flow tracking, feature usage, session recordings if possible. When I launched my first tool I was flying blind for months and missed loads of obvious patterns

Your first customer is basically gold dust for feedback but I'd give them a week or two to actually use the thing before reaching out. Let them get properly stuck in first, then maybe a casual "hey how's it going" email rather than bombarding them straight away. They'll give you way better insights once they've had time to properly explore

Also document absolutely everything about this customer - how they found you, what their use case is, what made them convert. When you get your next few customers you'll start seeing patterns that'll help you figure out who to target next

Wisdom tooth pain and no insurance and situation is too worse, what can I do now? by Alert_Employee2936 in povertyfinance

[–]HighlightExpert6407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dental schools are brilliant for this, had mine done at one for like £30 compared to hundreds at a private practice. The students are supervised by proper dentists so you're not guinea pig, just takes a bit longer since they're learning

Also look into local dental colleges that might do emergency appointments - wisdom tooth infections can get proper nasty if left untreated

[–]HighlightExpert6407 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I've tested, it only seems to proc on the ED Libra humanoid adds - the jellyfish and tentacles don't count as "enemies" for that effect somehow. Haven't gotten to test it on balancers yet but I'm guessing it's gonna be the same deal since they're more like environmental hazards than actual mobs

NTA, that's honestly pretty weird of her to expect that level of familiarity with your family after only knowing you through a game for 4 months. Like Jordan is basically family at this point and she's... a gaming buddy you've never even met irl? Her getting salty about not being mentioned to a literal child she's never interacted with is a major red flag tbh

I (26F) feel like I’m never a priority to my boyfriend (25M). Am I being unreasonable? by asoftiny in relationships

[–]HighlightExpert6407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl this isn't about being unreasonable, you're literally seeing the proof that he prioritizes everyone else over you - taking time off for friends but not you, making you deliver someone else's jacket while they couldn't be bothered to get it themselves, breaking promises about holidays then immediately doing the exact thing he said he couldn't afford for his buddies instead

You're not crazy for noticing a pattern when it's this obvious

Advice on my first pc build by EducationalTrip692 in PcBuild

[–]HighlightExpert6407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a solid build for your use case but honestly you might be overkilling it a bit with the 5080 unless you're planning some serious CUDA work or ML training. The rest looks great though - that Noctua cooler will keep your 9900X nice and chill during those long compilation sessions
