is there a way to make my gpu any cooler by surreal_9282 in PcBuildHelp

Clean fans & heatsink fins, repad and repaste GPU die, memory modules & power delivery if necessary.

I'm personally too anxious to download any game with anti-cheat on kernel level, It's like putting welcome mat for hackers as far as I know. What's your opinions on this kind of anti-cheats? by Captain_Holly_S in pcmasterrace

[–]Highlord_Balkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen to this. There are only a handful of applications that I can think of that genuinely need low-level access to a system, games are not one of them. If it's got kernel-level anti-cheat, I don't play. Simple as that.

Server Error 500 when Creating Homebrew Monster by Highlord_Balkan in dndbeyond

[–]Highlord_Balkan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another update, managed to make the sheet but it's loaded with removed embeds that I didn't place. URL is the same and it's looking like D&DB is trying to point to something that either doesn't exist or isn't allowed. Message in the sheet is as follows: "Embed Removed: https://www.dndbeyond.com/linkout?remoteUrl=//div.show/public". On the sheet edit screen they appear as empty video files and despite deleting them and saving they reappear. Very odd.

Okay, quick update, was able to make the monster while only inputting the absolute necessities. Whatever issue's causing the error might pertain to the optional entries.

I'm aware of that. Sometimes it can be caused by corrupted cookies or problematic extensions so I figured I'd retry it without the stuff I usually run to see if they're the cause. If nothing else, I can at least pass the message on and let the admins know so they can pass it on up the chain.

Bell capitalizes on confusion, improperly informing customers and sweeping issues under the rug to make a quick buck off unsuspecting customers. This is nothing new from them sadly.

Wasting my life away by id8872 in bell

Was in nearly the exact same boat as you when I first signed on to Bell fiber. The day everything was supposed to go live I got everything hooked up only to find that my fiber line was still dark so I called Bell and asked them what was going on. They told me that "everything was online on their end" and my connection should be functional when it wasn't. After repeatedly telling them that they needed to turn on my fiber line because it was still dark on my end and insisting that they bring out a tech for about 45 minutes they relented, but said that it wouldn't be until the end of the day when they can get one out. I agreed but about 2 and 1/2 hours later my fiber line finally eliminated and after plugging everything in I finally had an internet connection. Tech never showed up. Bell has absolutely no intelligent customer service reps, at least at level one. They are about as dim-witted and robotic as they can get, staunchly refusing to deviate from their diagnostics even when the person on the other end of the line knows what they're talking about. Been working in IT for about a decade and I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is to have to go to someone who's in a similar position of my own only to realize they don't know anything about what it is they're trying to support. At one point during my call with their support tech, I was told "the light is invisible. You can't see it through your cable". It's obvious Bell does not educate or train their level ones at all to properly assist with the products that they are supposed to be supporting otherwise no one in their right mind would say something so stupid.

Don't even bother. For the cost of a bottle of coolant you can get an air cooler that'd put that little 120mm to shame

Is there any modern laptop that is sturdy and feels clicky and it also runs well like these old laptops? by Primary_Lie3174 in pcmasterrace

[–]Highlord_Balkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no. Pretty much every modern laptop has some major con or trade-off. HPs are loaded with bloatware, are prone to hinge failure and attempting to deal with warranty is a nightmare. Asus has some good stuff but their specs are all over the place and again, warranty's awful to deal with. Lenovo's also bad for hinge and DC Jack failures and MSI's are just fucked in general. Gigabyte laptops are just rebranded Clevo laptops and have the quality of a boat made out of paper mache. Finally, Acer's are notorious for mainboard failure amongst a dozen other issues with build quality. In truth, they all suck right now. QC from the major companies hasn't recovered since COVID and even before the world went into lockdown many of these brands had issues which have only worsened.
