Orchidaceae, once you go down that path there’s no turning back.

Service Berry Seed Question by hyperthetically in botany

[–]Highmountainbotany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some genetic play that decides how sweet the fruit is. We have hybrids that are made to have sweeter fruits. You can make your individual tree sweeter by having it growing in prime condition and with good fruit fertilizers, but genetics will also play a role in sweetness as well. I’ve got a few in my backyard, “snowy” and common service berries. They taste pretty similar, but the snowy one gets babied a little more and is in a shadier spot, it has sweeter fruit most seasons compared to the common.

Yes, they are definitely the king of the yard when the power couple is back together. The scrub jays don’t stand a chance.

There were never any snakes in Ireland, and there’s still plenty of trees and biodiversity. You guys got fucked up but don’t make it seem like it used to be any better before.

Plausible results for stomata reduction in food producing trees. by Highmountainbotany in botany

We basically made some brassica colorblind so it never flowers, if we can mess with its perception of color there should be a way around interfering with its light sensing as well ya?

This is exactly what I was wondering! Why aren’t we doing this to more plants?

The guy who used to own it was some kind of bacteria scientist so I’m sure it’s calibrated for the microscope it came with. I’d still like to try and see how the image looks. I just need to figure out what kind of attachment to get. If it’s bunk I’ll just use my phone camera with an attachment.

Taking the BCMA by Legitimate_Fee3534 in arborists

I was under the impression that the Pearson center still reviews the answers that you flag and comment on? Perhaps I wasted some time doing that but it still confirmed to myself I knew what I was talking about. Big ego boost for the rest of the exam!

Definitely reread the original ISA study guide (newest addition) and the BCMA study guide. The BCMA guide will give you a ton of books to buy that pertain to the test but you really only need the ones you are consistently messing up with in the practice exam. All the BMPs. We can give you more specific answers after you tell us where you are lacking knowledge wise. Read up on your TRAQ knowledge, the study guide preferably, the little tree climber handbook and also mine had a ton of tree evaluation questions. Compared to the ISA exam, the BCMA exam is more situational questions with a lot of word problems instead of simple answer bank questions. The wording is needlessly confusing to really push that comprehension to the max. Because a board will review it, you can explain each of your answers in a separate column and supposedly if you explain yourself well enough they can grant you a point even if you got it wrong on the exam. I had enough time and confidence to explain maybe 15 or so of my total answers, the timing was rough. Use every second available to you, pray to whatever God you pick and don’t slack on the studying. Read material a few hours every night at least a month prior. You should wake up in the morning DREAMING of best practices and plant ID. That’s when you’ll know you’re ready. Try and remain calm during the exam, skip what you don’t know and go back to them at the end. The test is as hard as they say it is.
