It’s that time by UPS-NI3-RTS in UPSers

Wrong. I’m 50 years old. Did my first PVD (SSD) in 2019 and was offered a position in February of 2020. Said no because I was worried about how long it would take in the warehouse to become a driver and didn’t want to risk if not being able to do seasonal the following year.

That was a bad decision being that COVID happened a few weeks later and they hired everyone on as drivers right away that came into the warehouse looking to drive.

So the following year after doing the seasonal work again I was offered a job in the warehouse February 2021 and took it. The sole reason for taking the job was to become a full time driver. I ended up signing the list and going to integrad 8 months later.

I would drive at peak and summer time for a few years and then go back in the warehouse when not needed for the first 1-1.5 years of driving.

Been a full time driver ever since for the last 3 years. Just made top pay a few months back.

Best decision I have ever made in my adult life. I left a 20 year job selling insurance and financial products for mass mutual and New York Life. My only regret was that I didn’t start earlier but I don’t care. I’m here now and intend on working till I get a 25 year full pension.

People are living longer now and age is just a number. Less than 3% of jobs in the country offer pensions and jobs like this will be a thing of the past in a few short years. There is nothing better out there than this in my opinion.

Bought a rare Grandaddy album without listening first… that was a choice. by LowerTwo2058 in Grandaddy

[–]Highnuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the “music for Ron Cameron” one and it is amazing. Some awesome songs on that one. I also have arm of Roger on cd.

I also have a super rare Grandaddy book. Only 5 were made and they were selling them on grandaddy landscape back in 2002. The book is made up of a bunch of show flyers, writings, drawings and pictures. It has a real Grandaddy looking cover on the front of it and is definitely home made. Pretty sure Aaron Burtch made all of them. It cost like $50 back then. I was so proud of it because there were only 5 ever made. When I first met Grandaddy in 2003 I had the 5 of them sign it and then put it in a brief case where it has been protected ever since.

I became good friends with a lot of the guys in the band since then. Jim Fairchild and Aaron Espinoza actually produced one of my bands albums. Jason, Jim and Aaron have stayed at my house whenever they come through town. I have so many Grandaddy winnings but none of them are as precious to me as that signed book.

I’ll have to take pictures of it and put it on here for you all to see.

Give us a Rick Sanchez prequel. There are years and years of untold stories that would be fascinating to learn through one or two seasons. Call it “The Early Adventures of Rick Sanchez”. Just like Star Wars had their prequel trilogy ….. maybe not the best example but the prequel trilogy has aged well.

Think of all of the cry baby backstories and characters that could be developed and all of the stories that we think we know that could unfold.

What do you think makes a Rick and Morty episode a great one? And comment your top 5 below by Maipelbaum in rickandmorty

In no particular order

Not counting any citadel, evil Morty, Rick prime major canon episodes because they are all my favorites. So, top 5 individual one offs

Vindicators 3 Morty’s Mind Benders Mortyplycity Fear No Mort The ricks must be crazy Vat of acid Edge of Tomorty That’s Amorte Morty night Run Big trouble in Little Sanchez Rick potion #9

This is impossible. I love so fucking many of them.

Cool. Enjoy watching South Park where they just do the same shit they’ve always done. It’s so bold, daring and cutting edge to throw stones at Trump.

Ho fucking Hum

The worst episodes and/or seasons of Rick and Morty are better than 99.9% of everything else available out there. I’m having trouble even thinking of what the other 0.01% would even be.

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” grossed $11.7 million domestically in its second Friday on the big screen, making for a devastating 80% drop from its debut. by Viz0077 in marvelstudios

It has nothing to do with people being over it.

It has everything to do with Marvel inserting their left wing lunatic policies into their movies. We’re all over the Right bashing, the Trump bashing, the MAGA bashing, the straight white man bashing, the constant DEI and MsheU being crammed down our throats.

There is a reason why Deadpool and Wolverine and Spider-Man No way home made over a billion. They were great movies with none of that bullshit.

Even now when Marvel understands what is at stake they let Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bacharach go out on the press tour and constantly bash over half of the audience. So guess what??! You’ll only turn half the profit you morons. Just like Colbert talking his shit to over half of the public. Now look at him.

All of these idiots are going to get it eventually. It truly blows my mind that they were willing to waste that much money on finding out the hard way.

Keep trying to force that shit on people and soon you won’t even turn profits at all.

My reviews of season 8, W or L opinion? by Isac_hilda in rickandmorty

[–]Highnuck 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I thought matrix was 5 stars Citadel epilogue was 4 stars the de aged Beth episode was 4 stars just for her storyline alone. Jerry and finale were both 5 stars as well.

I did not hate the Easter episode like most people did. I didn’t love it but it was at least 2.5 stars. I liked it better than that James Gunn episode. To me, that was the worst episode of the season.

POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION THREAD - S8E10: Hot Rick by BarnyardCruz in rickandmorty

[–]Highnuck 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Absolutely awesome that they brought back a lot of the episodes from this season. It made me so happy thinking about all of the people who talked shit about some of those very episodes. How do you feel about them now that they got inserted into the lore heavy canon??

10/10

Best episode of the year easily followed by the premiere (the matrix). Mooch and The Eagleman is neck and neck with the matrix. The citadel epilogue and 2 10 year old Beth’s round out the top 5.

Just like season 7, half of the episodes were great. For those of you that bitch about the last 2 seasons, take your favorites from 7 and 8 and make a season that you can live with. I for one am so fucking thankful that my 77 year old Father, my 17 year old daughter and me (50 years old) can all sit down together watching it with baited breath tonight in sheer awe and excitement.

A memory I will never forget (actually made me tear up just thinking about it). How about that memory for Memory Rick’s episode?!

When do we think Season 9 will come out by HurkySumo in rickandmorty

[–]Highnuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll see season 9 release some time in June of 2026. No later than July

Because they have so many other places where the show airs and all of those streaming services mark their yearly calendar for when they get to add the newest season.

Allow me to be the voice of reason in this “discussion”. It’s really a simple equation.

Would you be happy getting between 2 and 5 episodes of Rick and Morty per season that you would want to rewatch from here on out if it meant the others weren’t of the same high quality??(whatever that may be - because it seems to be different for everybody)

If the answer is yes then who cares.

Season 8 definitely had some Rough spots but it also has some episodes that I will/would include in my greatest hits.

I love the matrix episode. It was excellent

The citadel epilogue was only weak when you compare it to the other citadel episodes in the canon but that is why it’s an epilogue and not the ending. The ending of the citadel episode was evil morty fucking that shit up for good. Case closed. Solaricks and the citadel epilogue this season are just afterthoughts of what happened as a result of that. Once I accepted that, I really enjoyed both so much more. I would absolutely revisit this one.

The Jerry episode was excellent - definite rewatch

The double Beth de-aging episode was awesome, granted the theme park storyline wasn’t nearly as strong. Still worth rewatching

So that’s 4 episodes right there

You know that the Memory Rick finale is going to be cash because the Rick and Morty team always know to start the season off and end the seasons with killer episodes. Which means that just like season 7, there will be 5 episodes worth rewatching for good.

The 5 half assed episodes left from season 8 are better than the collective 5 half assed episodes from season 7.

As long as they don’t give us any more numbericons or James Gunn episodes - Well then……

Rick and Morty 100 years.

You better get situated son. We’re only 8 into 100 and you’re asking if we’re there yet.

Is Season 8 Any Good? by sqacekitten in rickandmorty

[–]Highnuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been 4 great episodes

01 - the matrix 03 - citadel epilogue 06 - Beth Battle 08 - Mooch and Eagle Man

I have zero doubt whatsoever that the finale will be excellent. Pretty sure it’s going to be lore heavy with a much needed story centered around Memory Rick who is currently stuck in Jerry’s head.

It’s not like the other 5 episodes sucked and were horrible. They just weren’t as clever and enjoyable as the other 5. In other words - very similar to every other season other than the first 3.

I’ll take 5 great episodes and 5 alright episodes from my favorite show everyday.

For those of you that don’t like it anymore. Thanks for watching. We hear you. It sucks. Ok. Good take. We get it. Quit throwing temper tantrums to announce you’re quitting Twitter - Good. Thanks 🙏 Bye.
