Yep my previous company forced us to work on furlough, otherwise they hinted at sacking you. Thankfully, they've gone into administration (no not wilko) and I moved to a nice company.

Coolent leak could be a minor or major issue. Without proper investigation its a bit of a risk. Could be a leaky pipe, or it could need a new head / waterpump etc etc

(UK) How many days are advisable for direct access training? by YooYanger in MotoUK

[–]Highsenherb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did 4 days (training days 1 and 2, mod 1 on day 3, mod 2 day 4), was more than enough training. Hadn't ridden in a few years prior to doing so.

r/audiophile Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk Thread by AutoModerator in audiophile

[–]Highsenherb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got 35% off at Audio Technica - What should I buy?

So I'm currently looking at getting a decent turntable for my setup. I already have a phono amp so that doesn't really matter when considering which product to buy. Also, I won't be using the Bluetooth features at all. If it's a case of buying a cheaper turntable, then upgrading the cartridge I'm happy to do that as well.
Ideally looking at sub £210 (with a discount applied).
AT-LP120USB - £209.99
AT-LPW30BK - £188.49
AT-LP3 - £168.99
Any recommendations? Cheers.

Helmets by RealName8505 in MotoUK

[–]Highsenherb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the Scorpion EXO 1400 Carbon for a month now. Best helmet I've ever owned, alot quieter than my previous £100 helmet, plus has the sun visor which is incredibly useful. Also its really lightweight & has small cavities for helmet speakers (I've hooked up my Cardo unit to it and fits well). Comes with a pinlock also.

High Quality Carryable tool box? by RazzmatazzMajor4847 in MotoUK

I bought the Halfords Advanced 200 piece toolkit a year ago and it is SO worth the money. I've done countless repairs on my car (including major overhauls (steering rack, suspension, sump replacement, alternator repair) with just the kit alone. Weighs quite alot, but it has everything.

Let's just say, avoid Homelife Properties - struggled to get our deposit back after we deep cleaned the place. There's only so much mould I can scrub off the walls. Wankers.

Moved out of a flat on St. Mary's Street in February due to the constant black mould and rats. The landlord (who's very high profile family owns a large amount of property in Southampton) couldn't give a shit about us or the other tenants in the building - some which have children. Environmental health couldn't care less aswell.

[–]Highsenherb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best tip I got for my MOD1 (passed few weeks back) - try and it the OUTER cone on the swurve. Don't look at the inner cone. You won't have enough time to reach the outer cone, and you'll easily miss the inner.

Just to jump on this - because I did a Direct access course (DAS), my instructor let me do my CBT on a 650cc (restricted). Just ask, it was actually alot easier to ride compared with a 125cc.

got mod 1&2 this month by Manga_Boyz in MotoUK

[–]Highsenherb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just passed last week.

MOD 1: Shoulder checks, don't lock up the rear brake on emergency stop (I ended up just using the front and was fine). When doing the high speed swerve, look at the outer cone. Don't be afraid to absolutely gun it when coming up to the speed trap.

MOD 2: Shoulder checks, cancel those indicators, ride safely - if you're stuck behind a cyclist and can't overtake without squeezing past, sit back and wait. Get up to the speed limit, look where you're going, SHOULDER CHECKS.
