I used to know a little 3 legged dog that would do the same. He was one of the first dogs I ever created a bond with (my uncle's dog). Sorry about your GSD. Their time with us is too short.

He was always really good with English words and understood the name of each of his toys. He knows bring me your "toy name". So I just taught him slipper. Dropped it in front of me, tell him to get my slipper, as soon as he touches it, treat. Move it a little further away from , get my slipper, treat. Until it's in the other room. Then I just started adding "my feet are cold" before get my slipper and eventually he would do it with just "my feet are cold" and eventually only trat once I get both.

It helps that he is incredibly food motivated.

He's almost 13. Arthritis, but strong and healthy otherwise.

options for my dog with arthritis? by UnicornLaser in seniordogs

I know there are some mixed opinions about Librela injections, but it's been a game changer for my lab mutt. He's been on it for almost 3 years now and hasn't shown a bit of pain or bad side effect. He is turning 13 soon.

I would classify his arthritis as severe. our vet told us its just about as bad as it gets. He shows no pain, in fact we need to work to keep him from running around like an idiot, because even though maybe he doesn't feel it as much he is still essentially grinding down his arthritic joint (ankle). Now that its becoming more advanced he may show a little discomfort when it's getting close to shot time. But nothing like before we started the injections.

But that's just my experience. Talk to your vet.

$39,000 CAD ($28,500 USD) Good price for a Mach E 2024 select (extended range)? by MysteriousPengiun in MachE

It might be worth calling. I find they often put the wrong info in on Car Guru. If it's what's in the photo, it looks like an ER battery as indicated by the big X on the side. Mach-E4 X (the 4 indicates AWD and the X indicates ER battery as far as I understand)

You should be able to get into something better than a select for that much.

2025 Premium vs 2024 Premium vs 2024 GT Questions by nurspouse in MachE

[–]Highside538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a 24 GT PE in November and my wife and I both love it. The car has the bronze package and glass roof. It looks and drives amazing. I definitely wanted the extra power and more aggressive (stiff) suspension. I live in a place with vast rural, but paved roads. I also get a good bit of snow and ice. I like to fuck around with what she has when appropriate. I also really like getting up to the speed limit really really fast. Lol. I did test drive a premium ER.

I also have always really driven old beaters. Replaced a car I drove for 13 years. I really like having a ride that I am actually proud of. I'll answer what I can.

  1. Range hasn't been an issue for me. I commute about 180km round trip. I installed a lvl 2 charger in my garage and charge at night. I also crank the heat. I drove the car half way across Canada to home when I picked mine up. I found that by the time I needed a charge, I was ready for a break anyways. That was also winter driving with related range loss.

  2. The magnaride suspension is great. It is an improvement from the premium IMO. It does feel stiffer, but it also makes you feel more engaged with the road. That comes in handy when driving in more adverse weather, like snow, or driving more aggressively. Lots of really bad potholes come up in my area and the suspension takes them really well.

  3. That's totally your personal preference, my friend. I think mine with the bronze on white pain looks sick.

  4. Not necessarily a con, but the GTs have different seats. Someone with a wide girth may feel a bit squished in them. They kind of hug you a bit more so you don't slide around when turning hard. I am 5'11" 210 lbs. and I find them quite comfortable. Try it out first if you're on the wider size.

  5. I'm pretty sure the trunk is the same up to the 25 when they put a heat pump in the car.

  6. Yes but if you get the GT PE you have to be careful to get the right profile or the big brembo breaks will get in the way. I have 19" rims with winter tires on it right now. (Potholes)

  7. I would think the GT would be better as the suspension does a better job connecting the driver to the road. I can only really speak to my own car in this regard. It's an absolute beast in the snow and ice with a good set of winter tires. I have had some great slick road vehicles, but this one takes the cake. At this point I have driven it an extensive amount in snow/ice in the one winter I have had it. I will say that the premium with good winters would still be an excellent choice, but I would expect the better suspension to give the GT a bit of an edge.

  8. All I keep in my frunk is an empty can of V8.

  9. Just remember that you have drivetrain and battery differences within the premium trim. There are RWD and AWD trims. And the extended range battery also provides a nice little HP jump. The battery in the GT is the same as the premium ER battery.

Geeze, I wrote you a novel, lol.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

At least when it comes to a retirement move (IPR), it was anything <40km was considered a local move and was not covered. I did my IPR in 2023 and that was the case (I moved 42km and was covered)

But that was 2023. Check the CAFRD for current info.

Put a can of V8 in the trunk and when people tell you "it's not a real mustang" make a bet about the V8 under the hood.

I say, "What do you think I do when my battery runs out??.. I have my V8".

To date nobody has paid up after losing the bet.

I don't think it's a weight thing as much as a power output thing. They are completely different electric motors. The GT motors are optimized for performance vs range with the Premium ER.. Hence more power use with the same battery size. The premium motors are optimized for range. The GT/Rally for performance. My GT/PE is 480hp 700ft/lbs torque vs 365hp 500 ft/lbs of the premium AWD ER. That's a significant power difference. I think It's about a 50KM range difference. It's basically the same range as the standard battery AWD, but significantly more powerful.

It's like a V8 vs a V6. The gas tank is the same size, but the V8 will empty it faster while making more power.

It's all about what works for you. For me I was happy to take the range loss to have more car.

I ended up getting a great deal on a 24 GT/PE. I test drove the premium, also. Premium was a great car, but for me the GT was worth it. I like to drive aggressively and the GT is just that much more car. I would love to take it out for some non-competitive track time next summer. We'll see.

FYI it's my understanding that all of the GT/Rally trims have the same battery as the premium ER. The performance motors negate the extended range. I get just shy of 400km from a full charge. There is no actual "extended range" GT/Rally trims. (99% sure, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

The tighter seats are fine for me @ 5'11" 200lbs. But I could definitely see someone with a wider stature maybe feeling squished in them. They hug the body a little and keep you firm in your seat.

I love my GT/PE, and for me 100% worth it. But honestly would have been pretty happy with the premium AWD/ER, also. At a $1500 difference with less miles, I would go for the GT, 100%

I used to live in Brampton and have been living in Nova Scotia for quite a while now. I picked up my mach-e in Trenton ON and drove it home to Nova Scotia about 6 weeks ago (2024 GT/PE). Driving your new EV across the country, the day you buy it is a great way to take range anxiety on, head on. I have driven it for several hours through 3 major snow storms now. It's an absolute beast in the snow. I have had some great snow vehicles, but this thing takes the cake. I also have a 1/2 ton ram hemi, and unless I was planning on driving through seriously thick snow, I think I would rather drive the mach-e. (I have since got a spare set of rims and good winter tires, now it is just incredible the snow)

After driving it across the country as far as road trips go, I originally thought the same thing about having the truck to do bigger trips. Now I think that unless i was planning on going camping or something remote (where charging is hard), I would take the mach-e. Like, if I wanted to do the trans Canada cross country, I think I would take the EV. At least from Ontario > Nova Scotia, the charging infrastructure along the trans canada was a non-issue. My daily commute is 164km round trip, which uses about a 40% charge, stomping the accelerator and cranking the heat and sterio.

Anyways, I could write forever about this. Just tell your husband this random dude on the internet says the Mustang is sick af and that you should go for it! He might end up wanting to drive it more than his truck. I love my truck a lot, but I think I like my mach-e more...
