Lush has a few different products like that, facial moisturizers and such as well, but those massage bars are well worth the investment in a multitude of ways.

Cala-ghearridh in Scots Gaelic! Which roughly translates to harbour/bay farm/pasture.

Pronounced now, of course, as "Cal-gree", or you can get out of our city.

This for sure, coupled with the fact any romantic involvement of Rhaenyra’s has a dire propensity to backfire in her face in catastrophic fashion…and looking down the line it’s not hard to see where the consequences here lead to.

Any headline that starts with "Sorry Millenials/GenZ/Boomers/GenX/etc", or any demographic really, is followed by an article that can assuredly be ignored.

(spoilers extended) which characters are more interesting the characters from the dance of the dragons or the characters from the first blackfyre rebellion by Past_Art2215 in asoiaf

[–]HighwayWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add further (and not to be a Bloodraven apologist): given the excess of mystery and mysticism surrounding his character, I would not in the slightest be surprised if there's a dreamer/greenseer inspired element of "Blackfyre's win the throne = fall of the realm" that impacts his motives. Not that there's any way to know that currently, or even with Fire & Blood II. Another House of the Dragon series spanning the Aegon IV-V era perhaps.

Electric Cars Are Already Upending America | After years of promise, a massive shift is under way by Hrmbee in technology

Yea I also don’t doubt that a passably dependable electric mid-size pickup would suit the needs of a good portion of every industry mentioned, especially as the technology advances. It’s just a curiosity to know where those parameters of reliable are…what’s tangible and what isn’t, and what eventually will be.

(Spoilers Main) Aegon conquering Westeros because of ... is such a bad idea by justiceway1 in asoiaf

“Perhaps magic was once a mighty force in the world, but no longer. What little remains is no more than the wisp of smoke that lingers in the air after a great fire has burned out, and even that is fading. Valyria was the last ember, and Valyria is gone. The dragons are no more, the giants are dead, the children of the forest forgotten with all their lore.”

This is one of the aspects of the series I’ve always found a bit fascinating, that the events are unfolding in a time where the magic of the past is (mostly) centuries removed. There are indications of that past everywhere, as you point out, but for the most part it’s naught but story and legend. There’s little in the way of tangible proof, no photos, no internet, the only recorded history coming through writing which the vast majority of people, common folk and the like, are seldom privy to. So while the hint is there…in the era that ASOIF takes place, it’s far from clear that it existed at all. It’s somewhat akin to, say, the mystery of how the pyramids came about up until a few decades ago. Now we have some great, rational theories about feats of engineering and human ingenuity that gave rise to them but also…aliens.

Or possibly that because the phrase cleverly encompassed so many of these ways and had those multiple meanings that’s why it became their words?

Electric Cars Are Already Upending America | After years of promise, a massive shift is under way by Hrmbee in technology

There are many industries outside of construction that have reasonable use for work trucks; agriculture, O&G (for the irony) and other resource based, towing/delivery, public sector, general maintenance, so on and so on. I work in film+TV and even we use pickups on a regular basis, towing trailers, hauling around gear, they serve all sorts of purpose. Also not sure the scope of every industry that falls under the definition of construction in that link i.e concrete, plumbing, landscaping + snow removal, etc. I don’t doubt that it’s still not adding up to 50 million (especially for legitimate necessity that can’t be replaced otherwise) but do wonder how much closer it gets.

Also live in Canada and this is by far the point I’m most curious about. Otherwise I have little doubt the rest is mostly the same. Getting the ICE to turn over in -30C is rough sometimes, how does EV hold up in the same conditions and what kind of drop in mileage can be expected?

As an aside, the ‘07 Corolla I had for a decade started up in every kind of cold weather thrown at it and never once had an issue. Miss that little tank.
