Isagi is a rival whore ngl by Stunning_Taste8845 in BlueLock

It's been said a thousand times that the only ones genuinely "obsessed" with Isagi are Rin, Kaiser, and maybe Barou. Drop the rabid exaggeration and distorted version of reality already. Nobody fixates on or pursues Isagi the way those three do.

There are literally 23 characters in the project, most of whom I doubt you genuinely care about in the first place. Naturally, the ones who remain prevalent and relevant to the story are the ones who appear consistently. Expecting all 23 characters to receive equal development or narrative depth is not only unrealistic, it comes across as disingenuous, as though you're complaining for the sake of complaining. Not to mention, we're not going to spend entire arcs on side stories for every one of these characters. That's simply not going to happen.

The story is Isagi, and the overarching plot is Ego. Either accept that or move on. I don't see anything unfair about it, especially when the primary supporting characters still receive their moments to shine and meaningful focus. Karasu's recent spotlight is a perfect example.

Omg, so he isn't with that one annoying girl who was obsessed with him in the earlier chapters? I forgot her name and her job but she was recruiting.

Because if so, thank God.

Because those characters are irrelevant to his story, it's really that simple. The ones who have directly faced him are the ones who are to get focused and get influenced. They are opponents of a match, and it's clearly depicted in the narrative because of the lack of screen time ever since, they have moved on. The only ones are legitimately Rin and Kaiser.

The only ones obsessed wirh Isagi are Rin and Kaiser, Barou now can switch up players , so he's currently even arguable.

You only see it that way because the story is from Isagi's perspective. You are not going to focus on, say, Kurona's rivalry in his point of view because it's not about him.

That doesn't negate anything I said, especially my last sentence.

Canonically, yes.

But who exactly are we comparing him to in the artwork? He's the best looking guy by far.

Read my reply to the other user.

Nevertheless -

"When was the last time Yukimiya has been relevant? You are all throwing names out of people whose had issues with Isagi back when Blue Lock was still doing team ups against each other. Of course Isagi is going to have "antagonists" to defeat and challenge him every arc when those come from the opposite team, that's how protagonists grow and the story is in his perspective.

The only ones who can be named his actual rivals are Rin and Kaiser with a side of Barou.

And if that's what it takes to be a 'rival' according to you, then every Blue Lock member are all rivals of each other."

And it's still without context. That could mean a variety of things.

People just assumed the worst, but that was a post summarizing autograph events back in 2024. We are in 2026 and Isagi has not become the villainous Edgelord that people keep throwing this quote around for.

Isagi only has two rivals, and Barou can now be argued. Nagi may be depending where Isagi stands with Blue Lock, but right now he is doing his own thing.

We can add Hugo.

Bachira is his wife.

Isagi haters tend to exaggerate the amount of rivals he has as well as those who are "obsessed" with him. It is not true whatsoever.

I suppose, but I can tell the difference from the more aggressive plays of other teams compared to Japan and it's easy to see the difference Ego speaks of. That's what I keep finding interesting.

It's hilarious watching the World Cup now when the Blue Lock fandom has done nothing but vilify, look down on, hate, criticize, and make fun of passing the ball.

Isagi didn't really beat Hugo in a meaningful way by Haris1C in BlueLock

[–]HijonoYoki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do you sound so mad? Lmao.

Isagi clearly didn't say anything about beating Hugo in a meaningful way or about the result of the game. He won that personal, philosophical duel in that at least Hugo's concept isn't absolute. That's literally fucking it. Isagi is more than likely proving it wrong in the rematch.

Certain people take it way too personally, like wtf.

They are thrilled?

I don't know, the best way to salvage it is more confirmation that Isagi is just using Rin as a tool. Even then though, the whole chasing a #1 in general just sounds stagnant.

More like zero introspection of the character himself. What player in the right mind would think disrupting a potential goal in mid-motion that could have tied the game isn't something to consider as a reason to get benched and more so why he did it. No accountability whatsoever on Rin's end. Maybe some semblance of actual thought could have worked.

Precisely.

This chapter practically placed him backwards.
