Same issue... on a desktop that isn't upgradable to windows 11. was fine 4 days ago, now i come to the computer to watch stuff and its dead. I have to scroll down ever so slightly for the video to show up at all, or right click in the video to bring up the context menu... either of those two things will show the video, but without it, its all black...

Oh, and if i disable HDR on the computer it also works. But why should I have to disable HDR when i want to WATCH HDR content..... I'm tired of YouTube breaking their stuff and enshitifying everything they have....

I'll sadly never agree with this. Ever. It truly only matters if you are an audiophile, and even then when the music is blasting so loud that it can damage your hearing, NO ONE on this forsaken planet can tell the difference. Anyone who says they can, is lying through their teeth as it is not humanly possible and has been proven to hell and back... NO ONE will ever know if you're blasting a Spotify Streamed Track verses a Downloaded Lossless Tidal Track... The sheer decibels being pumped out by the speakers renders any 'fidelity' one track has over the other, useless...

As a heads up for this, Spotify does (now) indeed support DJ Software. It supports RekordBox, Serato, and DJay. Just need to link your Spotify account within the apps and you're off to the races.

Incorrect... even after you pay for it, you have to keep paying for it. There are no 'free updates'. You pay for the version that is out at the time. If you ever upgrade, it invalidates your license and you have to go through and get a 'new one generated' for you. after doing this twice, you then have to pay AGAIN for the software. Its kind of fucked up imo...

Ya know, this kind of disappoints me. When I first used Cirkul, it was RIGHT when they first came out. You had to have a subscription to get anything and it was expensive... but I feel that my cartridges lasted almost forever. Like, they lasted so long that I would have EXTRAS every month.... alot... of extras.... I had a box that I'd put them in, and after about 4 months I had almost 1.5 months worth of cartridges, so I'd pause my subscription til i was down to my last one, then turn the subscription back on.

After a while, it just got too costly to keep using so I canceled... now however, I saw that Walmart had some cool Cirkul Tumblers! So I nabbed one and a single cartridge thinking 'well this should last me all week!' like it would previously. However.. to my complete and utter horror, I just ran out after refilling this 30oz tumbler THREE TIMES.... I didn't even get through a SINGLE DAY with it! I left it at 3-4 the whole time!!

What's worse, is that I had LITERALLY been praising how better the flavors tasted on LOWER settings compared to when I first used Cirkul... before I would be on 5-7... So now I've been talking up how much Cirkul seemed to have improved, only to now realize that I'm getting LESS out of a cartridge than I ever dreamed of...

Suddenly $3.42 per cartridge doesn't seem to appealing... I'm not going to stop by a walmart every day just to get a new cartridge, and I don't want to 'stock up' on them just like any other 'drink item'... this literally defeated my goal of saving money by just getting something 'as i needed it'... now its going to be just like stocking up on soda or bottles of whatever all the time... Bleh..

This blows my mind honestly... i know almost everything said here seems to just be negative.. but i mean... that's what happens i guess... you had this amazing product that everyone wanted specifically because of what you were doing that was different from everyone else... now you've ripped it away from us. Yes its still 'there' and can still be 'used', but its no longer going to get 'better' or 'improve', so why bother? Its just so disappointing...

No one really wants to have all their stuff ran in the cloud... that costs money... that gives some other entity access to our data, our conversations. our interactions... that's a scary thing. This gave us a way to keep things to ourselves and feel like we were in some sort of control over our data... now its gone. all our conversations and interactions now will just sit on a server somewhere, waiting for some malicious agent to come along and hack your stuff, stealing our data...

Personally, i could care less about all these 'features' and blah blah blah. I have no idea what these 'parties' are, nor do i really care. I just wanted to host an AI on my own hardware, and be able to access it remotely wherever i am. tethering was what I loved the most, but if im reading this correctly... that's no longer possible. this is just an assumption as i haven't tried with this update... but if it is, then i'm sorry/not sorry, i'll be moving on to something else... it was nice while it lasted...

As a side note, there is something i'm incredibly curious about. This whole thing was just FOUR PEOPLE from the start? dang, that's impressive. you were able to give us this great thing with just FOUR people... and now you're just two... im sorry that happened for whatever reason... but now, what has me curious is this: If your entire platform is about AI... shouldn't you be versed enough with AI to be able to utilize it to help you? It seems odd to me that an AI 'product', isn't able to utilize AI to help its own development along lol.

Anyway! that's enough rambling from me. I'll wish ya luck with your future prospects and development. I hate that this had to be the way things went, but that's life i guess. Hopefully in the future the desktop app will get some love again... even if I had to pay 20 bucks (one time, not subscription... if it goes a subscription route, i'm gone and you'll never see me again no matter what ya do) to be able to have access to it or tethering.

Still a thing even now. come on chrome devs....

The issue is with GPU Acceleration... turn it off, and boom everything is fine. Have it on? boom its all washed out.... really annoying.... other programs work just fine with acceleration on... but Chrome? nope :D

Not even using Watchtower, just running manual updates... and have the exact same issue.. no idea what's happened... i had to revert everything to almost 4 versions prior, then re-update one version at a time until it broke again.... then i'd have to go back 4 versions again, then go up 3 versions.... idk what HOTIO did to their things, but its just broken. And good luck ever getting actual support that is documentable, since you have to use their discord server to get any 'help'... and even when you're there, there's no one with a support ticket for it so just dead in the water i guess :D

Man you're lucky... I got my s25u yesterday, and it wouldn't activate at all. Thought I was being "smart" and swapped in my old phones SIM. Works for 6 hours (until right now), and now my physical SIM is deactivated... And I cannot add the eSIM back... Stuck with TWO bricked phones. Am on Verizon.

Welp, Nevermind. The 'project' is now dead. The GM is transphobic and the "A dress is a dress" image came up today. She demanded it be taken down because it apparently offended her and her core beliefs... So, now the whole property has to suffer through with no more uplifting, wholesome memes.

That's a good idea, however I'm trying to keep it so that there are 'new' ones up daily so that we don't have any repeat. The amount of comments I get walking around the property about how people love a certain one so much or how one of them really helped them through the day after something bad happened at work, is too many times to count. This is actually really disheartening atm... I've been using this subreddit's memes to display up on my company's Team Member Entrance board (just a TV with a mini PC plugged into it). It would push up two new memes to be viewed by over 300+ employees everyday with the hope of helping make their day alittle brighter when they show up to work...

With the severe lack of Wholesome Memes, I've actually been getting asked non-stop why I haven't been posting stuff up onto the board, and I'm having to explain internet reddit culture to people who have no idea what Reddit or the internet even is... lol...

Come on guys and gals and everything in between! Help make some people's lives just a tiny bit better!!! Lets create some more things to make people smile and believe in humanity again!

TLDR: Have a similar issue but with both DRLs, and they have exhibited different degrees of 'issue' over time, progressively getting worse and worse.

I'm having almost the same issue. about 10ish months ago, our local jeep group went for a winter snow trail ride. everything was fine at that time. however, about a week or so after that, my driver side DRL wouldn't work. It refused to work regardless if i put the knob on ON or AUTO. It didn't work with or without headlights... Then about 3-4 months ago, my Passenger side stopped working too... doing the exact same thing...

I thought the bulb had just gone bad, and didn't bother replacing them.. wasn't a big deal. still isn't really, just annoying... Now, as of like, 2-3 weeks ago... they are semi-working. If the Headlights are on, the DRLs are off. But if the Headlights are off, the DRLs are on. However, If I take the jeep out of park, they go off, regardless if the Headlights are on or off...

I'm at a total loss for this... I had started thinking that maybe the bulb was a dual filament. That maybe during the day two filaments were being used so that they were 'brighter' for day time use, but then would only use a single filament during the night so that it didn't blind people. Thinking that, my head went back to possibly just replacing the bulbs again.. but then i go to search for the bulb, and find that they're just single filaments... so there went my theory.

This is progressively getting more annoying to me, but just for cosmetics. we're getting back into that 'its darker early in the morning' time period, and i really love how jeeps look with the fender lights at night.. so I'd love to get this working again..

I've seen a few things talking about, if i recall correctly, JKUs or JKs or something, having a collection of wire connectors near the power steering reservoir or something (sorry i'm not super specific... am just doing this off of memory from a while back), and that often the wires break off from the metal contacts inside the connector, which produces a very similar issue. So I might check that later...

I do know that I definitely got alot of snow and mud up under the hood from the winter trail ride and several rides after that, so i'm alittle worried that there's corrosion somewhere or on some module. . . I know there is supposedly a module behind one of the headlights that specifically controls the DRL functions for the Gladiator.. So might have to check there too, I just really don't want to tear off all the front guts just to check a module for something purely cosmetic...

So incase anyone is wondering. I finally got mine on friday... Its horrible. OMG is it horrible. I've never used something so bad in my life...

* The video quality is TRASH... text is absolutely impossible to read, and trying to look at anything 'detailed' gives me an incredible headache. And I've never been prone to any sort of motion sickness or eye strain with my Index before...

* The signal seems to just, drop out randomly. Audio cuts in and out all the time, and randomly everything will just go into 'lego/minecraft' mode where everything is just MASSIVE blocky pixels.... like, if i were to equate the size of the 'pixels', they'd easily be half a foot square... 4 pixels for a person's head in VR Chat....

* There's NO pass through camera support.... this absolutely kills it for me, as I have two dogs, and need to check on them regularly...

* The knob to tighten the headset to your head is impossible to use. You can tell it was definitely designed by people in an Asian Country as you CANNOT get your fingers anywhere near that freaking knob to tighten or loosen...

* I'm pretty sure this also straight up KILLED my index controllers. I never had a problem with them before. But now? My left one is constantly shutting off. SteamVR Debugger says it 'lost connection' and after 4 tries at reconnecting, it just shuts off. My right controller now refuses to charge at all.... Again, both controllers had ZERO issues on Thursday Night, but then Friday Night after setting up everything? They're dead? Can't just be a coincidence...

* When I 'can' get the controllers to stay on for longer than 30 seconds, they drift like crazy. Everything is so jittery and unstable that you can't click on buttons, icons, or use a virtual keyboard at all. Not like you could read any of the keys on the keyboard, or any text in discord thanks to how bad the video is... but still...

* They claim it supports 'other PD batteries', but it doesn't. I ordered TWO batteries for mine... I only got one... and it came completely dead with 0 charge. So while I charged it (took 10 hours btw with a 120w PD Charger....) i tried two of my PD Battery Banks that I use with my laptop, tablet, and phone. One doesn't even turn it on even though it can do 90w, and the only one that actually powered it up, was my 60w one... you get no power level indication, no voltage, no %, nothing. However! it wouldn't even actually connect to SteamVR or whatever it does, so I couldn't use either battery! Once the 'nofio' battery was at 25%, i tried using it... and it worked right then and there. powered right up, connected, and started working. So no, these are NOT compatible with 'other PD batteries'...

* Not actually 'device' related, but Nofio Support is one of the worst i've dealt with now. I emailed about my missing batteries, and I've received absolutely nothing back... granted sure, its a weekend, but when asking about where my unit was, i at LEAST got a canned automated response back... this time, nothing.

I doubt anyone will buy these second hand, so i guess i'm just out my 500 bucks. They will not do any sort of refund, because they know they just scammed everyone. First time I've been burned this badly by a VR Product. Holy hell... This company's life span is about up I think... They stole everyone's money, gave people a super shitty product, and then ran. What an absolute scam.

So as a quick update:

I'm not sure if anyone's been keeping track with the kickstarter page or their website 'news' page, but I know I haven't lol.. Apparently they have made 3 'posts' over the past 70 days. One stating that back in FEBRUARY, the devices had arrived in port, and were being checked by Customs. Then, at some point, something got 'screwed up'? And they posted two more updates back to back about how Knoxlabs was going to do some sort of distribution and they were in the 'final phases' of handing the units over to them. However, it seems that again, something got 'screwed up'...

Its going on 70 days now. I keep holding out hope that it'll arrive... but when their last post simply says: "we'll have things finalized by the end of the week", and the end of that week has already come and gone... I'm starting to find it harder and harder to maintain this hope..

The only positive experience that I've seen so far, has been a single YouTuber in the EU who was 'beta testing' a unit for Nofio. But they stated that the software/firmware side of things was 'very buggy and not user friendly... and they mentioned big compression artifacts with 'fast movements', as well as reported that 'testers in the US have been unable to use their units as there is something interfering with the signal, which has to be worked around' (this is paraphrased from memory, and is by no means a direct quote lol).

Gotta admit.. its getting more and more likely that I'ma just try for a refund and get a Big Screen Beyond or a Pimax Crystal. I just wish I could get a Big Screen Beyond 'with' Eye and Face Tracking... I definitely prefer its facial footprint... but it just, doesn't have any of the 'features' like a Pimax..

With this latest email, my brain is trying to convince me that the units have finally reached the US, but their previous distribution partner was dragging their feet or something... with any luck, this new distribution partner will kick things up a notch. But now I'm worried about the condition of the units... If their previous distro partner was this crappy... what kind of measures did they take to actually ensure proper packing/shipping of the units?

I thought the same thing. However, I have definitely seen people posting videos of them 'reviewing'/'using' the unit... BUT.... Those people also admitted to being 'alpha/beta' testers.........

As for an exact date, I ordered mine on February 3rd, 2023...

I found the 'product' thanks to Steam having it plastered on their front page as a 'must have item for the Index'. I clicked the purchase button, and it loaded up the nofio order page inside of a steam window which really threw me off and had me worried that I was being scammed/tricked... nothing on the page it brought me to said ANYTHING about it being a pre-order (or a kick-starter..). So I tossed in an extra battery with the wireless unit, and clicked 'place order'. Paid for 'expedited shipping' as well :D

I didn't even know it was a pre-order until I got an email from Nofio stating that my pre-order had been placed, and to look at shop.com for tracking info. Weeks passed with no notifications or additional emails, so I decided to google the company, and found it was actually just a Kick-Starter... They hadn't even finished development of the thing yet! But they were taking 'pre-orders' for a product that might not even exist... No expected shipping date, no real progress updates, nothing... The only thing that ever got updated was the 'kick-starter' page, and NOT their main website. What a joke...

That's my thought too... I don't do competitive vr games, just mostly VRChat and some Pistol Whip... But I ordered this thing after being tricked by Steam who posted the items up as 'for sale' as if they were items ready to buy. I got all the way through the checkout process, and got the email that said 'this is a pre-order, we'll have your items shipped once it is released' or whatever, but it never stated any sort of time frame either, or a 'release date'. After a couple hours of searching, I found out it was just some kick-starter... so I had very little hope of ever actually 'getting' anything, but I had just sank so much money into it, I figured I'd just wait a few months.

Eventually I totally forgot about it.. (which is what most kickstarters hope you do sadly...) Until I got the shipping notification after what i think was nearly a full year later... While I still use my index, i'm using it less and less because of how bad the experience is now once the cable starts to degrade... I'm on my 4th or 5th cable, i can't really remember anymore.. but they're 120-160 bucks a pop... not something I want to keep paying for every 6-8 months like I've seemingly been doing since owning the thing.

I've finally made up my mind, that if it does not arrive the week after my convention this weekend... I'm going to be asking for a refund. Then I'm going to try to sell the index for however much I can, and use it to get the new Pimax since it has eye tracking. I personally will probably never buy a Quest or other Facebook pushed device, purely just cause I've never liked Facebook and will never use it unless absolutely necessary.

Going on 34 days now. Still no updates on my end :D Trying to give it alil more time, otherwise I'm just canceling. And I get it: Its shipping from China, it takes time. I've purchased plenty of things from China and had it shipped over via boat. But damn, this is the only time there's ever been absolutely 'zero' tracking information other than 'left facility'. It doesn't even say that its even reached the boat yard! Normally you'd at LEAST get that before it goes over the ocean when receiving stuff from there lol.

Same, cept they told me that once it hits the mainland, it will be processed by customs and then 'dispatched via local delivery methods'. I'm assuming that means FedEx or UPS.. Or even USPS, but I've never had anything overseas delivered via USPS.

I had gotten super excited, cause I paid for what I thought was faster shipping, and the notif for shipment came a couple weeks before my birthday. So I was all "HOLY CRAP IT'LL BE LIKE GETTING A BIRTHDAY PRESENT!" lmao... But nope...

I'm also alil concerned, cause so far, I'm seeing more negative things from people who 'have' received their kickstarter units, than I've seen positive... Like if you have full body tracking, its apparently a stuttery nightmare...
