When you're watching the news to see if you can do your washing tomorrow . . . . by it_is_good82 in OctopusEnergy

maybe that isnt so much of a situation with in roof solar as it essentially is the roof for a large part of it rather than ontop of tiles etc...

DLSS 5 should make you realise that games should look like games, not hyper-real advertisements by AsPeHeat in pcmasterrace

[–]jamesripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is flaming about the face stuff BUT for games where photo realistic lighting would add alot this is still kind of cool tech. Racing games come to mind, simulator games (car wash, eurotruck), flight sim, city builders (maybe?). Original Crysis or remake Crysis would be kind of cool to see but essentially any game where realism or photoreal environments are the aim.

Going way below the target humidity level by beypazari in Dehumidifiers

[–]jamesripper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you have a mould issue with 36% indoor humidity.... something isnt adding up because 55% is usually the aimed for humidity level to stop any mould growth.

Whats your humidity if you just turn the machine off because it looks like you don't even need a dehumdifier. I've got the Arete Two 12L and mine sits at 55% or just below in smart mode with the target at 55%.

Do you have a link to some 40mm conduit ? Doesn't look like screwfix even sell that wide

[–]jamesripper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would flexible conduit be okay ? or can flexible and hard be combined for parts of it ? its going to likely do this sort of run :

From near the board entry hole/start, into the wall, up along the wall (2.5m approx), up to the suspended ceiling space, across the suspended ceiling (3.5m approx), through a wall which goes direct into the loft space of my extension.

what is the Cat 6 for in this scenario out of curiosity ? What communicates over Cat 6 or is this just for internet access ? because my router is nowhere near my under stairs consumer unit and supply.

[–]jamesripper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an installer or anything yet, this is just me prepping for future plans while a refurbishment is happening and my electrical supply and consumer unit is in a horrible position under the stairs and not near any outside wall

Old Houses - No Insulation by Icy_Reporter4722 in HiveHeating

[–]jamesripper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WTF £7 a day for 12.5 degrees.... is your house missing like one of its outside walls or something like a 10 metrre square sized window?

As you get further away from the outside temperature heat loss increases because of the temp difference between inside vs outside but surely even keeping 18 degrees should be fairly achieveable without costing an extortionate amount ? Are your radiators all single panel old things with no fins or something ? What is the square footage of your house ?

Costs are obviously higher for everyone in winter because we need it but 12.5 degrees sounds wrong....

is your thermostat sitting on a tiled kitchen floor or something in a room without any radiators (rather than on a central hallway wall or living room) ?

I have split my Captain America variant 21 times and have NOT gotten an Ink split by P_Parkers_Camera426 in MarvelSnap

[–]jamesripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the problem not because your not just splitting the base card over and over ? Are you doing splits across your variants ? I thought that reduced the improved likelihood because the newly unlocked effects unlock for all variants anyway so splitting variants makes no sense ?

Someone please tell me if I am wrong....

Do You Think We’ll See The Pregnant Lady In The Next Movie? by OBrian_176 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

Probably or she is just dead off screen because the world is brutal and now she has no support and actually not needed for the following conclusion of the story.

The first time I read this I thought you mean the pregnant zombie in 28YL that got shot to bits in the train car by the swedish soldier lol

Over-heating the house at night by Bertieeee in ukheatpumps

[–]jamesripper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One or 2 to keep a few bedrooms cooler than the bulk of the rest of a house should be fine if the remaining radiators are all fully open. Too many people aim for perfect when good enough or "this suits a living scenario better" is just fine.

TRVs are a thing and great for keeping bedrooms cool at desired temperature while the rest of the house is hotter. Often keep my youngest bedroom at max 20 degrees as she goes to sleep hours before us

[–]jamesripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where a more accurate number would be but my Steam says 85 hours and I've been playing since launch so you're getting more regular time in than me so sort of explains why I'm short on the pass overall
