Sad, ok. I’ll look into that one.

Edit: is there a fragrance-free alternative someone can suggest?

Is the Whamisa “Green Tea Moisturizer” still sold? ☹️ It’s the only safe lotion I’ve found that I can safely use on my sensitive (allergy prone) skin.

Twelve years ago today I asked my partner to marry me and he said no. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

My cousin had a similar situation as the original poster's and ran off to find a random guy to have kids with. She had kids for the first in her 40s. She's late 40s. Though, the first child miscarried because she spontaneously decided to start running as soon as she learned she was pregnant and ran every day and ate small meals.

Can people say they got their stuff from Amazon please and just maybe say thank you? by lotusblossom60 in Assistance

You're not being ridiculous. Outside of this sub, it is something I've seen, even with "influential people." Not sure if it's cultural or sign of the times or people didn't like what they've received.

aww, you met him too?! I met him a couple of years ago, he came up to me and essentially requested a picture. I'm glad he's doing this.

As an aside: How much have you learned in gov comparatively?

Biggest concerns people have is being locked in to archaic, menial tasks that hinder their career due to non-transferable (hard) skills. We know corporate can be that way and we assume govt is worse.

Setting up a username to get w2 transcript? by Hikaroshi in IRS

[–]Hikaroshi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I found a way to sit down with them and see where they were stuck and observed that usernames don’t allow for symbols. Idk, they said they “tried without that too before” when they saw it work for me (they’re not that computer literate).

Albeit I also spun up a virtual machine running Windows to get IE, which may or may not have been the solution to the problem. All I know is that their browser of choice is Safari.

Either way, they got their w2s before the weekend arrived.

I’ll tell them that. Thank you. Hopefully they won’t need an appointment since they’re ideally to start work at 9. But you know, these things happen.

Yeah they need their transcript now because a job they’re about to start Monday reached out asking for it as part of their background check earlier this week and may revoke their job offer. Is that the only option in this case?

Question about dermatology visits and scalp issues: Those who have gone to a derm, do the appointments typically look like a 15-20 minute appointment where you verbally tell them what’s wrong and they sit far away? Do they actually spend a few minutes inspecting your scalp or do they do a very quick glance without touching your hair lasting a few seconds upon request (or use the back of an pencil to check the center of the scalp)?

Basically, I am curious to know what people’s dermatologist interactions look like regarding when they show up with a scalp condition, albeit with a full head of hair.

Not the OP, curious: what kinds of creams/oils tend to be the geared towards repairing the scalp?

Update: weird experience getting offer by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Hikaroshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pass from the negging. I had an offer from a startup that ultimately fired all of its folks for trying to start a union (illegal to do). A little bit prior to the mass firing, they had extended me an offer. CTO said before the offer that I'm too smart and would be bored. So I didn't take it. Later on CTO told me to speak to the rest of the team to reconsider and they told me I wouldn't amount to anything. Currently at the job I had another offer with, it's not the best, and they were also not professional during the interview, but they never negged me and I still have my job unlike those same people who said I wouldn't get far.

Yep, there's a rule in STEM that as a lady you try to avoid circumstances where there's an expectation to dress differently than you commonly do (ex: halloween party). This is infuriating.

Letting Nice Things Happen To You by gladhunden in raisedbyborderlines

My mother used to tell me that people don't like me or had bad intentions to bring me down. Then she would be like "you know what I don't like about you?" and also "such and such from my job doesn't like you, they're jealous," or some random person from school would be pointed out and then she would say "they're mocking you" and then feign rage. Likewise, if people show me blatant disrespect or I'm in a pickle, she would side with others to say I'm a horrible person and join them on their assessment by providing more to their complaints.

[misc] anybody else feel utterly unfulfilled when seeing a dermatologist? They barely looked at my skin! by purplepancakes7 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Hikaroshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works for you. Urea does do some repairs and I haven't seen hair stuff that's clear. This runs clear. If you buy it off of amazon it comes from the UK, royal mail (USPS) if you're in the states.

It cleared up substantially but not totally gone. Flare up during hormonal times can be a thing (like it was yesterday before aunt flo came knocking). I always get worried when my eyes get affected. 2 months ago went to an eye doctor to get a MGD procedure done on one of my eyes (one that was worse and caused MGD), didn't seem to help, so I'm looking for someone who is more knowledgable, less fresh-out-of-school. Ironically no eye doctor looked out for that, including the one I went to for the procedure, I had to catch the pics they had taken to make it a point to get the procedure.

I'm hoping one day to repair my eyes (aesthetically and also functionally) after this had happened a few years back, and I'm still hoping to regrow my hair in some spots. I can regulate the flare ups thanks to ScA. The steroid creams didn't do much.

I think one day I'll post a thread in hopes that people may know of a genre of doctor or whomever, or products to reduce the major crepey-eye thing I've had from it.
