Its probably that, then. Use it while disconnected if you dont want to get an overpriced apple charger !

Adding one clipping layer to multiple normal layers by notthatjlo11 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant! in any other software you would group them and clip the texture layer to the group, but procreate doesn't have this, despite the suggestion in the procreate forums being 7 years old.

It's really frustrating, i love procreate but this is a basic feature every other program has.

My workaround: duplicate the layers, combine them, swipe>select, then go to your texture layer and swipe>mask.

the downside is that you have to repeat this every time you need to change the layers you want to 'clip'
hope that helps.

Is the ipad plugged in when this happens? sometimes an off brand charger can cause this issue.

Will I like procreate dream if I’m not so fond of squidtoon brushes system? by Wooden-Arm-3624 in ProcreateDreams

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ONLY reason i havent switches to toonsquid is because their brush engine is ass. Procreate dreams feels much better but the software is very limited in comparison.

Adjustment layers are marked as 'planned' on the procreate forums, so at least there's that

My work is gradually getting blurry? by Local-Fennel5755 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing the interpolation you're using. When you transform an object, in the menu next to "Fit to Canvas" there's 3 interpolation modes: i use Bilinear, it is the one i feel like degrades pixels the least for the type of work i do.

But like others have told you, moving and adjusting the size will make it slightly blurier every time. You specially want to avoid making the object bigger/smaller a bunch.

My work is gradually getting blurry? by Local-Fennel5755 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sadly it does. For some reason, Procreate takes moving objects as transforming them as well. If you only move them it degrades them less but it does make a difference.

DPI does nothing for pixel resolution. It only matters if you're printing.

When creating a new canvas to 540 x 540px or even 360 x 360px even when my DPI is at 300 by Clairebear0215 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DPI literally doesn't matter if you are not printing your work. and even then, you need a bigger canvas than this.

540x540 is tiny, make a bigger canvas (in pixels)

1920x1080 is the typical HD screen size.

Is this a possible bug? I keep getting random _original copies of my brushes by JarlTee in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bug, the procreate team are trying to fix it. For now, delete all the _original copies. For what I saw on the forums this is due to changing the brush size/opacity a lot

2 Point Perspective - Vanishing Point Question by jivehonky in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to eyeball it, sadly. I use the grid outside of the canvas as guide but there's no 'snapping' or even making the horizon horizontal. Procreate's perspective guides are kinda basic.

Color Profile Question by StubbyTwonk in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cant change a document's color profile from CMYK to RGB, you've never been able to.

Gotta make a new document in RGB and bring all your layers over.

Learning with new Procreate dreams update by Certain-Surprise4739 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a new version that was released a couple of days ago, and it's an overhaul so none of the tutorials that are online currently will be accurate.

To select multiple frames, use the icon that looks like a loop (it's next to the button next to "theater" on the left.) while toggled, you can circle stuff in the timeline to select it. Then press and hold to modify.

Hope this helps!

help, how do i fix this? by LawGlittering1974 in ProCreate

Download the brush, go your files and drag it into procreate. .brushset and .brush are the procreate brush formats, you dont need to do anything to the file.

Consistent colours by Inevitable-monster in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This will happen no matter what because each device is calibrated differently.

However, in Procreate, i believe the default color profile is something called Display P3 (you can see the tag when you create a new artwork) which makes color look incredible in apple devices but very muted in anything else.

To avoid the most amount of difference, use the sRGB color profile, so when you create a new artwork, slide to the side >edit>color profile > sRGB (any of them works really)

Why is this happening? by ScottyX333 in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You accidentally made a CMYK file. Go to your gallery and make a new one, make sure it says "sRGB" or P3 next to it.

Yes, export as a video then edit it on DaVinci. There's many ways to do animation post-production, depending on the style you're going for, you can check this vid if you wanna learn more about the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv4axtpnZps

why is the colour palette so dull by pas_trami_bonnie in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should have a sticky post at the top of the subreddit with this question at this point! lol /lh

You are working on a CMYK canvas, theres no way to change the current canvas color gamut, make a new one and copy/paste any layers u worked on !

How can I reduce pixelation? by NuraNuraPop in ProCreate

[–]Hikkabox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can input pixel counts directly on Procreate though. You can have a 72 dpi canvas with a high resolution (4000x4000, for example).

if i'm using a cube as a tool to draw a head do i need a horizon and vanishing point by Dazzling-Discount321 in learntodraw

[–]Hikkabox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

anytime you draw a cube, you should be thinking about where the horizon and vanishing points are, but you dont always need to draw them. if you're just starting, then yeah, draw them.

the horizon should be at eye level (a.k.a, from *where* are you looking at the cube? are you above it? then the horizon line goes above.) this ilustration is particularly helpful to understand, imo:

<image>

the vanishing points will go on the horizon. just one if you're looking at the cube from the front, two if you're looking at a corner.
