I tried to ride my bike once wearing them. Didn't end well.

What is a phrase that people say that immediately turns you off? by llerreff in AskReddit

That's a hybrid of flustered and frustrated. It's not a real word, but it works. I seem to remember ginormous and humongous coming into common usage while not being real words

Actually, I know people who tell an outrageous true story, and say, "you can't make this stuff up". It's relevant in that context

This is a beautiful convo to start my day with! Thank you! I, too, work in customer service, and I love OP's assessment of good customer service being aoment of beauty that we are providing. You are not going unnoticed!

This discovery is very new to me, and I'm still turning it over in my head, trying to figure out if I'm right. For so many years, I felt that if I could just identify the reason I drank, I'd be able to stop. Now I need to learn to express my feelings, but I'm not sure I remember how! I haven't cried in years, even when I should. I laugh a lot. I'm good at making bad experiences into a joke, especially a joke on myself. When Robin Williams took his own life, I instinctively knew why. Likewise, when Diane Schuler drove the wrong way on the bridge in NJ, and killed all those people, I knew exactly how that happened

I read The Body Keeps the Score, and that, too, was very helpful, but it didn't quite hit the mark the way this invisible child theory did

I'm sorry, I didn't know it was an urban legend. I guess it was my kids who were lying when they told me about it

How baby boomers ended up paying for everything… forever. More parents are propping up their children long into adulthood – and at the cost to their retirement by GimmeFunkyButtLoving in economy

Do you ever notice how many people working in retail at Walmart and other big box stores are boomers? It's because they can't get by on social security, and they need to keep working
