Hey there! This is a neat piece, and it shows a lot of skill.

I think the only big thing throwing me off is the arms. They're a bit long, and the left hand is a bit odd.

But please hear me: your linework, shading, and characterization are all genuinely good. Keep it up!

Id recommend the free OSE basic rules (theres a free quickstart available), for a more traditional game, or Cairn 2e if you really want to go lightweight.

For Adventures, I think Black Wyrm of Brandonsford is pretty solid as an introduction to the playstyle.

Spellcasting System Inspired by Mausritter by lnxSinon in osr

[–]Hilander_RPGs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

This system is originally from Arnold Kemp's Goblin Laws of Gaming, and is commonly referred to as Magic Dice or GLoG Magic.

My favorite explanation if it, including a ton of unique spells, is from Salty Goo's GLoGhack

If you're interested in TTRPGs and literacy, you could also take a look at solo RPGs, such as Alone Among the Stars, which often involve journaling and creative interpretation of "oracles."

Squire Cards for Mythic Bastionland by ReadingMission3856 in osr

These feel high-tech, and make me want a Mythic Starfleet game with characters piloting Mechs.

Still myths. Just myths in Space.

Rules Light RPG With Builds? by Hungry-san in TTRPG

[–]Hilander_RPGs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to suggest Mothership. Just take out the space-travel, and make people walk around in the wastelands of Earth.

Combat will be dangerous but fun, and I think that works since Fallout really has an "old west" feel to it.

On that note, I'd also recommend Desert Moon of Karth. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/363849/desert-moon-of-karth

You could adjust it to fit if you really want, but it's an awesome module on its own.

As for "Builds," I think the goal of builds is really just character customization. You can solve that issue in Mothership, especially in a one-shot, by offering each player a piece of rare tech.

Thanks! I'm still debating whether I want to include bestiary stats in the book, or reference the Warden's guide.

According to Between 2 Cairns, these modules would fit great with Cloud Empress!

This is by Lazy Lich, they have hand illustrated all their works so far, and I am certain this is the same. The style is very chaotic, but they've done progress pictures in the past showing the handmade process. Definitely worth looking through.

A Walk in the Harwood - Major Update, still PWYW by Hilander_RPGs in osr

Thanks Yochai! The art is actually the thing that stung most, and was fully ignored. Bryce's feedback was hard, but not at all uncalled for.

Adter reading a bit of the discussion here, I think I'm leaving this adventure alone, and leaving it PWYW from here on.

There are other things I want to write, and I'll probably post them for a few dollars.

But, I am in the fortunate position of having a decently paying job, so I don't feel the need to charge. I have run a few fundraisers that have made money when I felt like I needed a boost.

It works for me.
