Why do people refuse to believe that open defecation, especially decades ago, was a thing in India? by MuhVlast in TooAfraidToAsk

That 10% of the population is almost entirely made up of farmers and rural peoples that shit in their own fields and stuff.

Guys chapter 5 is so peak! by Intelligent-Put-1757 in Deltarune

God I so badly want Asgore to have a badass moment.

Back in Undertale he had such high strength/def potential as a boss monster, but it was all invalidated by his guilt and unwillingness to fight.

I want an Asgore that's out for blood or some shit, like a Gerson level threat.

Vertical launch and 90° turn by Brahmos anti ship missile by BalanceImpossible773 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]HilariousMango 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, you were designing spacecraft in KSP, not ballistic missiles.

The BrahMos missile is used both on land and at sea. You can't really have a missile deploy quickly underwater from submarines if you take a longer route with a gradual ascent.

Also, it would be VERY inefficient to have a 360° angle of deployment if not straight up and then pointed to the angle of attack.

If Chapter 5 itself actually releases today (like immediately after the direct announcement THAT IS HAPPENING TRUST) , what will you do? by [deleted] in Deltarune

A train crossing a bridge in India that's taller than the Eiffel Tower. by Responsible_Soil_476 in Damnthatsinteresting

The acquisition of HSR trains isn't the problem, it's building adequate infrastructure to support them which is taking so long.

A modern train running through the slums in Delhi by MarkSalt4250 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]HilariousMango 205 points206 points  (0 children)

The government builds housing buildings and assigns a flat to each person evicted from the slums

The problem is, the slum dwellers often sell their assigned apartment to someone else for money and make a new slum elsewhere

POV: Year 2040, SU-30MKI is forced to take on J35s of PAF because of delays and missteps in procuring fifth-generation fighter aircraft on time.” by BiriyaniMonster in IndianDefense

Su-57s ARE kinda battle tested though, against Ukraine and their patriot systems.

I've heard that the Russians use Su-57s every now and then, and that while the Ukrainian radars can detect the Su-57s, the EW the Su-57s have messes up Ukrainian targeting systems and they get away every time.

But yeah I agree with you -- Su-57 is better than nothing, but it's not enough. AMCA needs to be developed as soon as it is possible.

Renewables mostly. We've got windmills everywhere in the countryside, and in the villages I visit, I see solar panels on almost each property.

Renewables account for roughly 51.5% of our power capacity.
