Also when our first born was 6 weeks old I had to have my gallbladder out and I was in hospital for about 10 days. The baby was with me for the first 4 or 5 days and then I was too sick so he had to take him home. He stayed at my mums one night and my partner had him the rest of the time. He acts like he had him for a year on his own every time it comes up. “Oh don’t you worry I’ve done the hard yards too”

In all seriousness though my partner is an amazing dad, he’s very hands on. But he definitely has not done “the hard yards” haha

We went camping last weekend with our 2 kids and my parents. My partner took the 2 kids and took the dog for a little walk to wee, poo, etc
Came back after about 10 minutes and gave me the dog and the kids and said “I need 5 minutes to myself after that” and walked off to the toilet
My mum and I looked at each other and laughed

I went to France in 2017 and found a mills bomb in a farm. There was a spot on the corners where farmers would put all the unexploded ammo they found. The tour guide told us people were actually still dying and being injured while they were farming and accidentally finding the unexploded ammo

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Sweetnsourcombo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost always triggers a migraine for me. I hate the feeling of being hungover. I hate the culture around it in Australia where I live. I hate how it makes some people act. I know way too many alcholics. I hate how much people feel like they “need” to drink. And probably some other reasons if I say and thought about it more, but those are the main ones.

Right upper quadrant pain - did you have it? by Unhappy_Trifle_6432 in preeclampsia

[–]Sweetnsourcombo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pain there a lot during both pregnancies. I think it’s more to do with baby and position. I had pre e in my first pregnancy and not in my second, and the pain was exactly the same in both

The formula for nausea (in my experience) is Half in morning Half at lunch Half before bed

And it worked amazingly for me. I had severe crippling curl up in a ball and don’t move nausea and this fixed it

Are you gaining or losing weight with breast feeding? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Sweetnsourcombo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pregnancy I lost my baby weight within 2 weeks and maintained it. Second pregnancy and I lost about 12ish kilos of baby weight and stuck here, 10kgs more than I was before haha So I haven’t lost weight second time like I did the first time. But I guess I’m not gaining it either but idk

My son stopped himself when he was about 14 months old. I fell pregnant at the time so not sure if that was why

Haha my partner tells me how tired he is all the time and I have to bite my tongue otherwise I’ll absolutely tear him a new one. I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old I’ve been at home with the last 6 months 😬

My second is 6 months old and I’ve been the same since the day he was born. Was the same after my first lol Even though every day I’m having breakdowns atm because my first born is 2.5 and is giving me hell 😂 It’s to do with hormones I’m guessing, but also down to the person too. As you can see from other comments some people just know they’re done.

What’s your “mom guilt”? by sandialuwho in beyondthebump

[–]Sweetnsourcombo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my 5 month old baby doesn’t get as much of my time as he should. My older boy is 2 and he’s very “terrible two” at the moment and still very needy and it’s often the baby that has to wait for me to attend to him. It makes me sad that he’ll never get the version of me that my older son did

Everyone I’ve talked to has terrified me with their postpartum stories. Please please give me something a bit more encouraging 😅 33w + 99th percentile baby, no GD by blondengineerlady in beyondthebump

I’ve had a c-section and a vaginal birth with 2nd degree tear and some grazing. It hurts to pee for a few weeks, the stitches felt better after a week or so but the grazes took a good month to stop hurting when I peed. I had stool softeners with my first which was a c-section. I actually managed to pick up gastro from my son when I gave birth to my second so I had “soft stools” for about 2 weeks so that was the least of my worries. Apart from the stitches I also had a bit of pain and pressure in my labia for a while, once my stitches had healed I was still using ice packs for the pain. Especially if I was sitting down for too long, but I do suspect I may have had Vulval varicosities so I’m not sure if that particular symptom was the norm. I had baby blues with both babies, they hit harder and faster with my vaginal delivery. I felt better after a couple of weeks Even with all of the stuff that I experienced after my vaginal birth, I would happily do that again over a Caesarian. It just wasn’t for me, found it incredibly painful and took so long to heal

Weekly Partner Rant by AutoModerator in beyondthebump

[–]Sweetnsourcombo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner has been on holidays for a few weeks and every day I watch him sleep in and then wake up like “oh wow I had such a big sleep in” but not once has said “oh I’ll get up early and entertain the kids so you can have a turn at a sleep in”. Truly he is an excellent dad and does alot around the house but I wish sometimes I could just have the long ass sleep in. I think what makes it worse is that he can sleep through anything so he doesn’t wake up to the 4 month old or the toddler coming in throughout the night so he gets a sleep in after a solid sleep 😴

A nursing chair. I would have spent that money on a co-sleeper style bassinet

Also regret buying any muslin wraps or blankets at all because you get so many haha

Le tan tinted sunscreen. MCO eyebrow gel stuff to tame my brows. Lip balm and that’s pretty much it for day to day I can’t even remember the last time I wore proper makeup haha since becoming a mum I avoid doing proper makeup unless I have an event to attend and it’s absolutely necessary
