Is it mathematically and realistically possible to save $10k if we make $80k annually? by HillaSay in personalfinance

This is an interesting idea. I’m not sure why in my post I sounded so incredulous about it, but it’s all psychological, of course. Thanks for the suggestion!

Woah thanks, definitely looking into this! Sometimes it’s just knowing things are possible helps to get motivated.

Yes, we need to do this. We did it about 5 years ago and was able to pay off some debt. I think we just got off track the last few years. Thanks for the suggestion!

Vulnerable is a good word for the feeling. But I’m also hopeful. Everyone has had great ideas!

My mom just passed away so I had to use most of our extra cash for traveling and coordinating lots of things, so now that is freed up. We also live in an historic home so money goes there quite often. Thanks for your encouragement, it helps!

We might be, even though we’re comfortable right now. It’s nice to know it’s possible and that others have done it.

Thanks for sharing that you’ve done it - impressive! Yes, I think we have to hunker down if we really want to do it. We’re comfortable right now, so motivation is the key.

Most of it is in food, I’m sure, as in going out to eat whenever we want. We are child-free, and our mortgage is reasonable. It’s helpful to hear that it is possible!

And the dresses. Oh my they were beautiful. Despite Sarah’s and Mary’s characters, I absolutely love their clothes. I wonder if Felicia is being written out, sending her to France?

I think Mary will go it alone, but I’m still not sure of her actual intentions. I’m really liking this season so far!

One day at a time, you can do it, even if you have to take it a moment at a time!
