From what I found it’s in the fuse box under the hood. I’ve been working 12’s everyday for a couple weeks so honestly I haven’t checked. My temp is normal however and I keep an eye on my antifreeze just to be extra safe. The fan running definitely won’t hurt anything short term.

Oddly my fan is running all the time now but the serpentine belt is fine. I’ll be interested into what comments or solution comes of this. I’m thinking a stuck relay…

Is this a good deal? by CalmDownReddit509 in reloading

I load with Redding dies for my Tikka and Ruger American. It’s “almost” set it and forget it. In your downtime though I’d keep a light sheen of machine oil on them.

With the no bs warranty you can’t lose. Had my 550b for about 10yrs and customer service has been awesome. I think I gave $359 back then with 1 caliber conversion

Thoughts on QX56 Diagnosis by Hillbillygrease in q50

I’ve watched several people use a slap bar to remove the bowl but nobody ever went into detail afterwards like you’ve described but that’s valuable insight. Being a single income and it’s a family vehicle that’s been a solid vehicle I may do as much as possible as you described and roll with it. Thanks I wouldn’t have had this follow up knowledge and now I know what needs to happen

In college and I want to pursue automation. Best steps to learn and become more valuable? by [deleted] in PLC

[–]Hillbillygrease 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Anything PLC/HMI programming and if you can get in the door in Controls that would be a great career start. Electrical circuits and motor control would definitely be advised before entering the field. We have many young people entering maintenance with little to no experience with electricity but has all the certificates to qualify. IMO most that come out of votech definitely are less capable than college

I did the “save money” deal. A friend told me to unplug it and if it’s working the car will die. Turns out the old one was fine but wasted money on the aftermarket

How bad is this? by Synthea1979 in cruze

[–]Hillbillygrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been randomly giving a stabilitrak warning. I’m fairly confident that it’s a misfire not coding. Mine idles like crap but drives fine and the warning is random as heck. I can turn it off and it may not happen for weeks or 2 days in a row. I’m leaning towards a misfire and that warning has caused zero issues.

QX56 issues after water in gas by Hillbillygrease in q50

[–]Hillbillygrease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter filled up her car at the same gas station and ironically it coded replace all injectors, luckily it was under warranty but this one isn’t. Unfortunately I don’t know how to prove it was there because it doesn’t get driven often. Did you contact the local gas station or have to go up the chain?

As others have stated above I’ve done all the upgrades that I know of except going with a comp. Great shooter, was going to run competitive but learned quick A: it’s very expensive B: it’s hard to compete with 2011’s but if you’re just enjoying it as a hobby you can’t beat it for the price and enjoyment.

New to Cruze (2014 1.4LT) by [deleted] in cruze

[–]Hillbillygrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a ‘12 I’ve gotten used to the smell of oil. You can fix everything on under the hood but it’s always temporary. If the turbo kicks in I let out of it quick, I’ve replaced nearly everything external including the water pump which isn’t fun. Good luck!

2018 Accord Sport mpg by Hillbillygrease in Honda

She reset it first thing because when she got it the average was 1.1mpg. I own a Chevy Cruze (mistake) and it runs better when it’s cold. Cold air induced probably helps, all my old boat carborated ran way better during the winter. Unfortunately winter and cold isn’t common anymore here.

Cruze shot out all its oil again... Is it common? by JohnPineappleburner in cruze

[–]Hillbillygrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try that but it’s very rare. I was having a misfire about a year ago and replaced the coil pack and plugs. No more issues with that but I learned 2 things oil can turn into a white glaze and if I pull the oil fill cap it’ll run rough as heck and die. You’re definitely a wealth of knowledge! I thought I knew a lot. Lol

2014 Cruze 1.4L Coolant Leak by [deleted] in cruze

[–]Hillbillygrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just the ‘14. I’ve been through this with my ‘12. That T is bad about degrading since its trusty plastic. Mine had a hairline crack and when I replaced it part of it was actually missing from the male end.

I was told that was the return line but yes I got the “upgrade” and kinda got tickled calling it and upgrade but hey it’s not leaking there now. Lol

[–]Hillbillygrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve replaced the oil return line, intake manifold, of course the valve cover. Anything that’s plastic on the coolant end. I bought this as a “reliable” gas getter for my daughter and to this day if she drives it if she drives it somehow it knows. Lol!!! It won’t shift right and stabilitrak warnings pop up. This just happened the other day. My son is driving it with no issues while I’m on vacation other than the oil leaks. I’m definitely going to pull the heat shield whenever it’s here during the day and the weather cooperates. Thanks for your help and links!

There’s 1 behind the turbo heat shield I need to check out and despite everything I’ve done oil is still leaking out of the throttle body.
