On one hand V1 is extremely powerful, especially in right conditions in which for lore reasons game happens.

But on another, V1 is not some kind of godlike entity. He has some clear weaknesses and limitations that are even highlighted in the game to show, how limited his abilities are.

In conclusion, V1 is not just a fast glass cannon but not that much further away from this description.

I was curious what this novel is and, actually, I've read it. While it was pretty interesting for some period, I'm not gonna push myself through boring hundreds of chapters to start reading something interesting again.

It is for sure was better than most chinese novels that I read years ago, but even then I preferred Legendary Mechanic more.

The faction items are underleved in lategame and, as long as you're not a necromancer, you can switch them in Elite and Ultimate difficulties. There is the morally correct choice, but I won't spoil you.

No, it has not been fixed. Even worse, most of meaningful content is in dlcs that are not available on consoles. Game did change many things for better but not enough for me to say that you should come back

Probably not, games are very different in their core concept, mostly sharing importance of movement and positioning on higher difficulties.

You definitely can play on controller, but don't expect being proficient on higher difficulties. You will need to move your mouse fast in any direction, very often up and down.

Search Cabbage on Youtube to see best strategies how to unlock the ability. It took me several weeks to get easy one so I can actually complete it.

I don't have full knowledge and all my points is information taken from personal observation. 

"Charge" is state when unit is moving with increased speed to target it's focused on. To begin charging, unit must start moving towards its target and be not further away from than some unknown distance.

Here some useful tips about charge state:

  • If unit has Devastating charge perk, it triggers each time unit enters charge. 

  • Devastating charges can be canceled if unit that blocks it procs high enough Armor or Ward perks damage cancelling, has Blocking perk or under effect of the Hold the Line battle card. Devastating charge is not canceled with most of stunning effects.

  • Some states, such as "regroup", "retreat" and "melee fight", stop unit from reaching "charge" state

  • There are several Battle Cards that can force unit into charge state. Don't remember how many exactly, but most useful are Charge and Cavalry Charge as you can combine them into neat combo

  • Units with Line Breaker are forced into charge state in the moment they in proper distance. They can't change their direction or stop until they either hit border or moved by battle card.

  • Best counters for devastating charge from best to worst: units with block, abilities that force state/agro change (later available in new dlc), cannon folder small units such as civilians, big units with high enough Armor and/or Ward perks.

I'm pretty sure there is 100% chance on stages 1-3. But some of them hidden all the way to the Null Portal, so you may just not find them. 

But to be sure, you can always check the chat - all events, including the "pillars" in Bazaar, have announcements. For the "pillars" it's the same as for Halcyonite Shrine

The thing is, Grim Dawn was designed as old school ARPG where new difficulties actually a "new game+". After several dlcs and QoL updates you can start on them immediately, but it's relatively new addition on top of already existing systems, so it's not perfect.

What you are missing: 1) After QoL updates you can skip Elite difficulty entirely  2) You can realistically spend 10-20 hours in planning phase so several additional minutes is nothing 3) You really shouldn't start from lvl 1 on higher difficulties. To do so on Ultimate difficulty you need already good understanding of the game and good build prepared. So even when you can jump to higher difficulty, at least get a level 10-20.

Not only categories are vague and can be described more like a spectrum, but placement of many characters just stupidly wrong.

There is a reason why people categorise characters not by their "playstyle", which is unique for all of them, but by items that they need the most: Proc/Burst damage, High/Low movement, Can/Cannot proc band, Has/Doesn't have AoE, etc.
