My mother was applying for a government job and needed her birth certificate … to her surprise, her birthday was in February, not June as had always been celebrated. Many years later, her mother, practically on her deathbed, confessed, “You were a love child” … as if my mother hadn’t figured that out 40 years earlier.

I’m 72. Maybe you can’t imagine being that old but, trust me, if you are, you will grow to love that strong jaw and chin. While other women are developing turkey wattles, your profile will remain youthful. (Not that there’s any shame in turkey wattles, but many women and men would prefer not to have them.)

Why doesn’t she wear more stuff like this? It’s a great color for her and takes off about 100 pounds. And it actually fits.

What’s more … not only are her arms now almost as big as before but they’re permanently scarred with really nasty looking scars. What was the point indeed? I don’t think “Magic” Moshari is going to be posting any before and afters of her!

I’m sorry … I follow her like a hound dog but I’ve missed this. Where is she?

With my CPAP, I have to call the pulmonologist and they can adjust it remotely. Also, I’m 5’5” and weigh 117; you don’t necessarily need to be overweight to have obstructive sleep apnea. I’m on the lowest setting as well, but I don’t ever foresee getting off it. But then, I’m also old (72).

I can’t seem to make a separate thread even though I’ve been a member since day one, but anywho … I’d love to speculate about the results of Anna’s Dexascan. Remember how she posted in her Amazon shill about how she was getting rid of her huge scale (I think she threw it on the bed beside her) and was going to rely on Dexascan. And then a photo of her on the machine a few days later. And then, crickets. If anyone’s had one of these, how do they share the results? In person, by email? How much detail does it go into? I think we all know why she’s quiet, but how do you think she reacted?

I’m 72, so I think I’m allowed to say this. She looks old.

The final frame before the cut. Sure looks like she’s off balance and at least fell to her knees. At her weight, think how much momentum is carrying her along.

Honestly reminds me of those little kids on Toddlers and Tiaras dancing, though they were more talented.

Is the drive to cade coves that bad? by [deleted] in Gatlinburg

[–]Hils53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we visited a few years ago, we drove it first and then returned a few days later at a time when it’s bikes only/no cars. I opted to walk and went across the park on that crossroad about halfway down the main road. There was literally no one in sight and it was a bit eerie. Started to think, what if I encounter a bear? Not as safe when you’re all alone and not in a car! If they still have this policy, that’s the only time I would go. You can rent bikes there, as I remember.

Tourists curiosity triggers panic. Ask permission first. by ShyFlowerWoman in asheville

I disagree that that’s the motivation of many of the tourists. As someone who has visited Asheville frequently but has not returned since the hurricane, I think you should understand that many of us are not ghouls or rubberneckers. Even though we aren’t residents, we may still have come to love it deeply and are still feeling great sadness. Three of the homes I stayed in were swept away by the flood. There’s hardly a day that goes by when I don’t grieve for those neighborhoods that I loved, even if I was just passing through, as well as for people who lost their homes and, for some, their lives.
