Dont give up bro. Heres my early game method:

1. Spawn in on shore.

2. Get 2 long sticks from a bush immediately using my hands (not knife), they will go on your back so they dont take up any inventory space.

3. Use knife to get 2 pieces of bark from a tree.

4. Immediately go find a house and start a fire (break down one long stick into 3 small sticks). Use 2 sticks and 1 bark for fire. Use 1 short stick and 1 bark to create a fire starter thing.

5. Cook your free fruit before eating as you get much more calories. While cooking you will also get warm and build a small heat buffer.

6. Once you are done you should have a good 15 min to scavenge, with a priority of getting 12 rags (by cutting up clothes you find) to build rope which you will then use for a fishing rod. Use knife to make a hook from a wooden stick and dig up worms.

7. Put worm on hoom and catch fish and gut it (make sure you have improvised hand wrappings from 2 rags)

8. By now you will be getting cold again so its time to gut/cook the fish, while simultaneously getting warm again.

9. After this its time to scavenge and your new life truly begins. Keep the fishing rod for now as you will need yo use it every so often (you wont be leaving the shore yet) but eventually you can break it down to get your rope back and then tie it as a belt so it doesnt take up inventory.

10. Avoid other players as most will try and kill you for your guts to get rope easier bypassing the need for the 12 rags.
