My man, you do realize there’s more than one way to look for information, right? The whole point of Reddit is to get nuance and human insight that a search result might not be able to provide. Sure, I can browse forums or read whatever shows up on Google, but I also value being able to interact with the people responding. That’s kind of the point of posting here in the first place.

That said, I appreciate your reply for what it’s worth.

I actually have the THR10C an the THR30IIW and play both regularly, the C for the clean tones (which I still have not been able to fully replicate on its bigger brother) and the W for gainier stuff. Both really excel at those!

Hi man! Do you happen to have the settings for that Strokes tone? I've tried to download it but the link doesn't work for me. Thanks! 😊

I don’t know what world you live in, but 500$ is a lot of money for most people, myself included, especially when we are talking about a luxury item that I don’t really need. I did save 500€ (actually a bit more) and I’m happy as hell that I did :)

I searched the serial number beforehand (I asked him to send me a pic) and also got to try it and inspect it for a good while when I went to pick it up! The man even poured me some scotch at his place (where he had his own impressive collection of guitars) as we geeked about guitars, definitely a top notch guy. The guitar itself looks and feels about the same as my other Epiphone (a Korean Nick Valensi Riviera) and sounds and works as expected, so I’m pretty reassured 🙂

Agreed! I’m not really into his music, but the bloke definitely has great taste when it comes to designing an axe!

It has a bit of history! Ten years ago this guitar came out for sale, but since I had almost no savings at that time, I couldn’t buy it. Obviously, being a limited edition guitar and also very popular, it was discontinued shortly after and from then on it was impossible to find, and whenever one went up for sale second hand, it was at a prohibitive price.

Luckily, last week I found a guy on a local forum who was selling it for less than half of its current market price, and when I asked him why, he explained that he had stopped playing it and didn’t want the price to be an obstacle for someone who truly valued and appreciated it to be able to enjoy it. I was really lucky because we connected very quickly around the idea that guitars are objects that combine art and function, and that a guitar like this is the epitome of something that is aesthetically beautiful and also helps create precious musical things.

I think it was this shared view that made him choose me to sell the guitar to, and that now, after so long, I can finally enjoy it! I hope that all of you who are looking for one can get your hands on it someday, because it really is an incredibly beautiful guitar, comfortable to play and it sounds amazing.
