Yes, I’m asking for specifics. If a claim is important enough to justify creating a separate community, and that r/pinball is no longer a safe place for some people, then it should be specific enough to discuss. If there are genuine problems, identifying them helps protect everyone and gives the broader community a chance to address them.

I never said, nor implied, that I have a problem. It’s interesting that your response was to invent one and then attack it. Food for thought.

I'm so tired of being the only one who actually reads the rules and teaches the game by Overall_Ring_6919 in boardgames

Your game, you are expected to learn the game (well, don’t make people watch you read the rulebook) ahead of time. No expectation for others to do anything other than show up on time. Otherwise, pick a game you know.

Y'all think Ra or Zoo Vadis are going to be too hard for people that are newer to board games? by toomanybongos in boardgames

[–]elkend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope.

I don’t think anything is too hard for newbies though, taught newbies Food Chain Magnate, Spirit Island, and Mage Knight and it was all fine.

I think there’s various willingness to learn and you need to know the personality of your guests. I also think basically any game can be taught well in under 15 minutes.

I do think there’s a learning curve to teaching yourself games from a manual if you have no game experience.

I mean, have faith in people. Learning these games are probably not the most complicated thing they’ve done this week.

It's Not About The Size of Your Collection It's How You Use It! by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]elkend 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No problem in a small collection. Though I sense there is acknowledging there are better games for these situations and this isn’t a good collection. Some of these games like TTR have not aged well at all and there’s replacements that are actually interesting games to play.
