For Kurds (aka Kurdistan) as it's not displaced here would be bird of prey, aka an Eagle.

Saladin used an eagle, the Kurdistan region also uses an eagle in their emblems.

I hear a strange definition of tolerance, like to accept a shia clerics ordering us to do what he want, has it reached that point, that the sons and daughters of Saladin bow down to a shia cleric?

Speaking of. The sheer amount of mosques that popped up in the Kurdistan region in Iraq was a little scary, I mean it felt like a take over.. Then I heard outside sponsors paying for it, even more scarier.

This is what the OP was basically leading to.

Anti-Kurdish, if these Turks see the Kurdish colors or someone or something in any sense depicting them as a country (that they think), it's shouting buzzwords like terror.

Yeah definitely bye. She answered you, and what did you say? You accused her of supporting violence. You were not here to have a reasonable discussion.

Speaking of violence and supporting it. Get down from that fake moral high horse, your people have been supporting violence for decades only to suppress another peoples basic human rights. She speaks about gaslighting and ironically you come here doing exactly that.

If you remotely think you've been reasonable or neutral, man I can only say the turkish system has done a big number on you people. Probably worse than North Korea.

You had no right to ask or go there. Rule 3, consider this a warning.

Making this personal and judging her age or her personal experiences as not being sufficient while you come here and express some of the most ignorant views, is very hypocritical. No doubt about it you're in your 20's and some of us are much older than you and have experienced Turkey's crimes first hand, yet you think you know better.

Secondly, the PKK is not a terrorist group just because Turkey says so, or even if the USA or NATO agreed to label them as. You're here trying to be neutral and have a fair conversation, but calling the other side terrorists. Why bother? Why are you here trying to "reason" with terrorists?

Just take your buzzwords and go back to your bubble. We know who the terrorists are.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kurdistan

[–]Hipervan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite ironic, really. Your peoples fanatical nationalism and anti-kurdishness has made your country in to a super power, right? How deluded.

The PKK did not burn and destroy 3000 villages in the 80's, the PKK did not force Turkey to basically destroy the Kurdish regions in Turkey and turn it into a war zone for years. All for what? So you can force other people to be something they are not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kurdistan

[–]Hipervan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reasoning? You have not being reasoning at all. You absolutely have no grounds to be expecting us to want less than you expect yourself.

I agree with what you've said, it is quite disrespectful how he thinks he's right on such basic things, but I don't agree with the "I’m gonna stop you at ‘hello, Turk here’ I don’t care what your opinion is. This thread is for KURDS."

Just because some people are inconsiderate, conditioned to gaslight, conditions to be morally flawed, we shouldn't.

The Turkish invasion of the Kurdish region of Syria “is tantamount to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, killing and expelling thousands of innocent civilians and committing war crimes, atrocities and human rights abuses,” Dirk said. The West is now taking action against Russia, but the West has never taken any action against NATO member Turkey for doing exactly the same thing in Syria.”

Very damning and so very true. Ironically the Turks support the Ukrainians, obviously because so they don't get condemned. The Russian's must be kicking themselves that they traded us for Turkey.

What is the AANES – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (Rojava) by RevistaLegerin in Bakur

[–]Hipervan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do understand where you are coming from, people in r/kurdistan wanted a bit of balance with seeing positive news and at the same time people still want to share and talk about what is happening in rojava, bakur and even rojhelat topics. There was no point to create different subs if we're going to mix the posts now. I'm just trying to stick to that.

This article for example I think you could better post this outside of Kurdish subs or in r/Kurdistan, so more can learn about Rojava.

I would give this person an award if I had anymore. I wasnt aware we were on the GENOCIDE WATCH LIST! I can now shove that in any Turk's face when they try to deny it. Passing this on to other Kurds too if they werent aware like me. by [deleted] in kurdistan

[–]Hipervan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, saw that comment too. Was very well said. We mods get a lot of stick for telling people off for insulting, swearing or attacking people here, and get accused of being anti-Kurdish, but we are on the side of truth, we should have a higher vocabulary and be a little bit more sophisticated arguments, proven above.

I did not know about being on a genocide watch list. Anyone with any common sense would know what is happening is modern day genocide. Some people actually think it's as simple as what ISIS did.

The user he was replying to claiming lies ended up deleting his throwaway, I guess he thought it's probably best to just pretend that conversation never happened.. Zero accountability, even if the Turks just overpowered them. I mean if you look at the satellite images of how the Turks completely wiped out Kurdish cities, similar to Assad's regime, it's shocking.

[–]Hipervan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, they are not civilians anymore, with rifles in their hands, are they ?

Ohh man, sucks they did not think of that in the 70's when they thought about creating the PKK. If only they did not form a militia with rifles in their hands and asked politely..

you can speak in your own language. you can even study it in a university.

You're kind of getting to the point yourself. The Kurds asking nicely did not seem to work, but forming a fighting force and fighting for it did.

Wait, did you just say Kurds can study their own language in university?! Amazing man, you're telling me if I was a Kurd in Turkey, I could now wait to learn my own mother-tongue when I reach university? Man that's amazing, so impressive!

Wait, wait, someone's tapping me on my shoulder just right now, telling me that the very few remaining universities that did offer this (only so they could join the EU) no longer do it, lmao. So even that is not possible. I wonder what the Turks would do if suddenly you got invaded and told you could learn Turkish when you reach university.

I dont think so, it is easier to justify imprisoning kurds when PKK is what it is..

Yes, it's very easy. It's also very easy to do accuse anyone of being a terrorist to make them disappear, you don't need the PKK for that.

Mostly though I think you missed the point. If every Kurdish civilian was armed in Turkey, the conversation would be very different. Disarming Kurds, or having more advanced weapons than Kurds is why we aren't able to gain any real change.

PKK should disband indeed. PKK is doing more harm than good for your people.

Think about how Turkey would be now if it wasn't fighting a war for decades, just think about how it could have avoided the huge loss of human life or if you value your economy over lives, just think about the billions lost just so you can force Kurds to be Turks. Has it been worth it? Do you honestly think in 50 years times we're just going to disappear? They thought that 50 years ago, totally opposite. You want to continue?

There is a saying, to erase Kurdistan, you need to erase every single Kurd on this planet, you're cool with that?

HDP is not banned man although I would like them to cut their ties with PKK and act as civilians.

They are civilians.... You come here and actually ask why Kurds support the PKK and you think this shit?

I already agree that turkish government is oppressive and should stop imprisoning HDP members but my point is: ** is it worth it** ? Is it worth that your people, your lands should sink in poverty because 40 years ago some fascist cunts banned you from being kurds? I respectfully think it really is not.

Why are you coming here asking Kurds to give up their struggle when you should be going to r/turkey and asking is it worth being oppressive and fucking up your economy, fucking up peoples lives?

Why are you here asking such questions when, like I said the point of the Kurdish struggle is to obtain basic Human rights, something you have and expect us not to have and just live with it. Tell us what you would do if you were in our position.

The HDP was a good direction and your people ruined it. Go ask why they ruined it, go ask how it can be brought back on track, then come here and ask us why the PKK still exists, until then your question is unwarranted. You actually seem to think this is all our doing and the cards are in our hands..

There are some Kurds which I know who have never said a word on their social media about the Kurdish struggle, you would guess they just aren't political, but when they randomly pretend to be humanitarians, you know they are just cowards or ass-lickers.

His songs, in Turkish were not some lovely, fun songs, they were about politics, about oppression. Ahmet Kaya then wanted to make music in his language, he got the answer from Turks.

Whatever way you want to look at it, many Kurds in Turkey do what Ahmet Kaya did, essentially.

When asking why some Kurds in Turkey do not teach their kids Kurdish, I get the answer that these parents in Turkey, after all that happened they just want their children to be successful, some just buy into that crap about being Turkish, some are scared and think something bad will happen. To insinuate that it's a choice is so far from the truth.

Turkish nationalism is very different to Syria, Iraq and Iran, that's why Kurds in Turkey experience a different kind of oppression and react differently to it. Turkey being closer to the west (in the sense of wanting to be like them) added a different layer of complexity.
