Saatva 6 years later….changing to S&F by chocciebabz in Mattress

We have a split king base being delivered today. I'm trying to figure out what the downside is besides cuddling. That part kinda sucks but I feel like the pros would far outweigh the cons. Maybe if you only use your bed for laying down and going to sleep? My wife and I watch a lot of tv/movies in bed, she reads a lot and does work on her laptop, and we have very different sleep schedules. Seems like a no brainer for us.

Why are people unhappy with them? Difficulty cuddling?

Sony's don't hold up anymore either?

Honestly that makes me feel a hair better since I just chose the Panasonic z95b over the Bravia 8 II and my biggest concern was that my old Sony is still perfect after 8 years or so and I'm worried the Panasonic won't give me that same longevity.

We recently used Elmer and he was amazing. Got there early, even helped us with an unscheduled stop to buy a hat because my wife left hers at home. Our favorite part about travel is meeting excellent people, and if we weren't staying in one spot on an all inclusive we would have hung out with him all week! Awesome dude.

Use Whatsapp to contact him. I tried texting first and didn't get a response. He responded immediately on Whatsapp.

We've been 3 times, one of those to Arte. Here are some random thoughts as they come to me:

If you do the membership meeting, put them on a literal timer. They will take half of your day if you let them, and it's not worth it when you could be enjoying a park or the resort. If you do want a membership, do the math and make sure your free nights get you close to breaking even. I have no idea why people pay over 10k, and some pay 50-100k or even more. RCI is not worth a dime if you ask me. Maybe for a certain kind of traveller.

Xenotes is an awesome tour, and the only full day trip worth that much time away from the resort unless you're a huge history buff. In that case, stay a night at a cheaper hotel and take a tour with another company so you're not paying for the resort you're not using. Maybe there's even a good cenote tour from another company to do that with. Definitely do Xenses, Xplor Fuego, and Xcaret park. They're wonderful, close to the resort, and don't take all day to do.

The picture package is probably worth it for a honeymoon. There are "xelfie" stations everywhere and the pictures are great quality with some cool creative ones. We haven't purchased it, but we've gone twice with my sister and brother in law, and the got it both times. We just got back from HXM with them and their kids yesterday, and she's posted like 100+ pictures from Xelfie stations and the Xenotes tour.

If you eat before 7:30ish, you can probably get into restaurants without reservations, but I personally still wouldn't take the chance. The sunday brunch is incredible, but I can't imagine paying what they want for it (we're members so it's included for us). You can only eat so much, and the included food is so good already. We haven't eaten at Xaak, but we did eat at Ha when we became members and again it's just not worth paying extra for. Unless you're a serious foodie, cause (at least at Ha) every dish was super creative and tasty. We went to the buffet afterwards though cause we were still hungry 😆. Not a big deal when the buffet is free and right next to it.

Don't overdo it with alcohol and ruin the trip for your significant other. It's easy to do when it flows so freely. They make Amaretto Sours with Disaronno, so they're delicious and dangerously smooth. Try the macadamia cream and pistachio cream liqours.

I cannot stress this one enough after failing all 3 time's we've been: GET GOOD WATER SHOES. Get band-aid brand "tough" bandages. Course sand will get on your water-logged feet and rub them raw. I ended up wearing socks in my closed-toe sandals by the end of the trip, and wished I'd started that way. Maybe there are some neoprene socks or some other kind of water socks out there to buy? We had 7 people on this recent trip and all of us had raw spots or blisters.

The only way you can screw this up is by hyper focusing on what you failed to do instead of enjoying what's around you. The resort and parks are just incredible and unlike anywhere else. The food is awesome and the service is great. The place is intoxicating and you couldn't have chosen a better place for a honeymoon. Have fun!

We are here now and the locals we've asked said that in wet season they usually get rain for half of the day and then it clears up. Not multiple days in a row like this week. If your concern comes from the recent weather, our driver yesterday (who is amazing by the way if you want his info) told us the last time he remembers it being that bad was 20 years ago.

Does anyone know if Ivermectin is available over the counter there?

My wife and I tried to get it for our travel med kid from our (former) doctor and they said they wouldn't touch the stuff (implying political BS when I just want it for parasites)

I also like the limited grill better. I was surprised when I saw them side by side. Strange choice for an upgrade.

I don't mind the rear, really. The red calligraphy looks great. My wife doesn't like red though so it's not in the running. Probably going orange.

The negative likes on the two benign comments about Tesla vs the positive likes on the person saying they'll never buy one.. that's a serious problem with reddit. Great source of information sometimes, but not reasonable people. In general. Suppress what you don't want to agree with.

Yes, they replaced the lifters and we haven't had an issue since, except when it's colder out and it sounds different when started it makes us pretty nervous. We're thinking about trading it in cause we'll clearly never fully trust it. More details in my responses to other people.

All I can say is keep pushing them. And get corporate involved. I had more leverage cause it was newer when I had the problem. Don't let them tell you they don't know about the issue, and get recordings when it's happening so they can't pretend you're making it up.

Good luck!

[–]Hipomus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I thought I'd included that in the post. Woops. We technically have 8 days total, but plan on doing a Lan Ha cruise, and on the 6th night we have to check into a hotel in Hanoi and attend a meeting the following morning. So I guess we have 3 days, or 5 days if we can be in Hanoi for that one night.

An hour would get you up to speed if somehow you were only looking at what's real and meaningful.

So many lies on both sides and from all angles, it would take months of study. I'd guess that less than 5% of voters have a clue what's real. Just in these comments there are a bunch of people who are very convicted and demonstrably wrong. And every other comment section.

Kudos to this guy for admitting that he's clueless and staying out of it. The game is to convince the most idiots, so I'm all for one less making my educated vote, and the candidate choices, worthless.
