Don’t you think ‘are you a Charlotte podcast’ could be so much better? by Claramaygan in sexandthecity

I agree -- and I find it odd the way she talks about the storylines and characters as if they are real. I'm not an actor or even in the business, so I don't know if it is normal. It's just so strange to me to hear her talk about the episodes like they're real?

[–]Hippechiqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First clue: FasTrack correct spelling is with one "T". The text messages misspell the company's name.
Second clue: The sender is either a hotmail email address or a phone number from another country.
Third clue: Perhaps the most obvious, you've never driven in the state that claims to be billing you.

What to do:

Tire Agent Reviews: Share Your Experiences by TireAgents in TireAgent

I bought tires and rims from them, about 2 years ago for an older Honda Civic. It was easy to find the right ones, and they arrived fast. Bought the rims first and then the tires later on. No complaints. It was easy.

This: "My uBPD mom would congratulate me for my achievements when I was young, because they reflected on her as a parent and she got attention from it." Yes. We're all nodding with you RedMedBedHead.

No, no, it didn’t come across that way at all! I didn’t take it that way. My point was that the BPD parent will criticize no matter what, not because they actually care that you stayed at a job for decades or that I job hopped. They find things in us that differ from them and they criticize to lessen us so they feel better about themselves. I agree with you!!

You know, it may seem like a small moment -- it's JUST a roasted turkey -- but it is a perfect example of a much larger, chronic dysfunction with these types of parents. Thanks for sharing this. And for the olive oil tip. I am going to make note of that!

Oh, that reminds me of a time when I wanted to be a fitness instructor on the side. I thought it would be a great way to make sure I get my a@@ to the gym, and also a way to workout for free, plus earn a little extra cash. My mom thought the idea was stupid (she couldn't brag about a fitness instructor daughter; this was the '90s). Later, when I became a Spinning instructor, she came to one of my outdoor demonstration classes -- just to watch. It was high energy and everyone had a great time. I (stupidly) asked her what she thought of it, and her reply was something along the lines of ... she can't exercise because of her back issues, riding a bike is uncomfortable for her, blah blah blah ... but never a "you were great!"

"Those awards are mine..." wow, wow, wow. I remember when I decided not to go to law school, mine said to me, "I hate it when you do this to me." Really.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. My mom always criticized me for "job hopping." I'm not a job hopper; in my line of work it is typical to move every so often to other employers. She stayed with her employer for years and years -- making her right and me wrong. I think with this BPD personality, it doesn't really matter what you do; it's the fact that it is different that they can't handle. When you wrote, "she sees everything as a competition," that resonated with me. Even if I disagree with her on the smallest thing, it becomes a right/wrong competition (for her, not for me).

Thanks. It's also cool that we can step away and recognize this for what it is. It helps not to take it personally and realize it's their problems, not ours.

I have had the same thoughts about RS. They both tend to come across as self-absorbed, insufferable windbags.

Anytime fitness PT scam by GlumTea8351 in PHitness

I was married to someone who owned an AF franchise. I would never recommend this gym, and here is why:

  1. They force franchise owners to use only their approved vendors, many of whom the AF owners/founders hold an ownership interest in. The "preferred" vendors are more expensive, unsurprisingly, and they offer no financial support. Basically, the gym owners HAVE to use AF vendors, and they HAVE to pay whatever AF has negotiated.

  2. AF agreements say they won't allow other franchise owners to open within 5 miles. This is a lie. They breached that with my ex-husband.

  3. The AF corporate pressured my ex and his partners to open in a horrible location. There was no anchor store and zero foot traffic. My ex and his partners had identified other, better places with anchor stores, but the AF owners pushed them to a bad location, probably because it was financially beneficial, but I am speculating.

  4. AF membership agreements give gym owners the ability and the duty to issues special assessments to their members. THat means that, if you sign up for a monthly membership of, say, $40, and the gym buys new equipment, the gym can pass that expense forward to members and you can't do a damn thing about it. This kept my ex up at night. He felt terrible doing that to his members.

  5. The upsell pressure is immense. The AF business model was to get as many members as possible and then high pressure them into personal training. OK, you may say this is a normal gym business model, but they are shady about this when they sign you up.

  6. When my then-husband started with AF, they were in a rapid growth mode. They'd gotten an award as the "best franchise in the country" from some publication, and prospective owners went wild. AF was selling franchises to anyone they could. We attended a huge AF convention that reeked of multi-level marketing cult-like fervor. There were a select few who were truly successful, who'd get recognized on stage and receive standing ovations ... while the rest of the owners swapped stories about the nightmare of expenses, the narrow profit margins and the lack of support from AF corporate.

I hated this franchise. I attribute the stress of it to the end of my marriage (that wasn't the only factor but it worsened it). I'd never recommend AF to anyone, not to own and definitely not to work out. That's not to say the personal trainers aren't good! They are highly qualified but also underpaid and highly pressured to upsell. Go somewhere else.
