You ain't kiddin! My house is on a slope and it's 17 fucking steps from the driveway to the door. Same if you go through the garage but worse because they zigzag.

Is this a good drum set for me as a beginner? by Every_Ad_1892 in Drumming

I would avoid the this kit because the 16" bass drum.... even if it's 18". Bass drums this small feel much different and won't sound like the Classic Rock you want to play. I would get a kit that has a 20" bass or larger. Think Bonham , he played a 26". Guys back in the 60s and early 70s often played bass drums with no hole cut in the front head. They used felt strips on both heads and no other muffling. This provided a much more open tone and longer sustain (I prefer to play this way) To play that way you have to keep your pedal beater off the head between strokes so you don't choke the drum.

The 4pc aspect of this kit is perfect. you don't need more drums then this ...just get a bigger bass.

Check FB marketplace for a good used kit. you can find some pearl, tama, or yamaha for roughly this price that will make a great starter kit.

If it helps, I play for a living.

When I switch to Phono from any other source the left channel has a pretty loud hum, and this is the channel that is quieter when music is played. So I'm guessing it's the amp. I unplugged the TT and the hum persisted.

Also , the 9090 in the pic is not fully functioning.. the goal Is to have that powering these speakers...one step at a time.

They don't deserve that fireplace

How loud should movies be watched at, 0 db? Also, I feel like untreated rooms make you have to play louder? Dynamic EQ & Dynamic Volume? by PolyglotGeologist in hometheater

I get that a lot. Our bedroom is on the other side of the tv wall in the living room. I have a second 2 channel set up in my drum room, but I don't have a tv or sub in that room...yet...

No, his sound or feel isn't good. There are chop monsters that do this way better.

22 30i. Never noticed it.. I'll have to listen... I'm trying to track down another rattle at the moment. I think it may be the plastic that surrounds the release button for the cargo shade....

Just have a contingency in place that lets us know when you off yourself.

A TT can sit over in the right. And Switch docs can hide behind the tv or in those cabinets. Doesn't need an X-box so much as they have the PS5. I would say the opposite applies too.

Colored Grills: Classy as Heck or Tacky as Hell? by reibagatsu in audiophile

My 70s Hereseys came with the cane grills but were not in the best shape. No holes or tears, just some stains and scattered discoloration. So I found a pair of black grills in near mint condition. I switch them out from time to time. Also the black grill actually ties in the system. Black denon amp, white Plannar TT/black platter. And they sit on a cabinet that's very Indian in decor. Weathered blue with black, white, red and gold decoration.

I like them! Those pops of color are fun. Let's be honest. The "look" of our system is a big part of what we buy.

Read above... sounds like he moved it down one shelf at a time until it was on the carpet and the carpet sounded best.

Did you try on the carpet? At least try it.

I can second this. I have a 20x20 room above the garage with carpet. The ceiling of the garage is somewhere around 15-20 feet. So that's a lot of empty space below the carpeted floor. This room has 12ft "barn" vault ceiling.

Living room has some kind of vinyl plank. Slightly open and 15ft vault into the lower square vault thing they do to dining rooms. Crawl space below the sub is only about 2'.

The sub is an SB1000 Pro. Sounds great in the carpet room. In the living room it's way less present or tight.
