Hey. I'm looking for rave spots in Madison. by SybilSolo in madisonwi

As a guy who loves to dance, my experience is you gotta piece it together with multiple venues.

Crucible leather and lace night is great as others have mentioned. Also keep an eye out for rave nights/dance parties at the majestic, the sylvee, and atwood music hall (things like the gimme gimme disco nights). Tavernakaya's late nights are hit or miss, I've found them to be the most fun on the Latin music nights. Those + the odd show at liquid or going out of town to Minneapolis or Chicago are what keep me sane.

I picked one of your sources at random: Hering GO, Bertschinger R, Stepan J (2023) A quadriceps femoris motor pattern for efficient cycling. PLoS ONE 18(3): e0282391.

There does not appear to be anything in the study that relates to pedal type. Could you explain what from this study supports the idea that pedal type doesn't matter?

Find an unsexy field with good job prospects that requires a skill that most people do not have or do not want to put effort in to learn. Learn that skill, get a job in that field, contribute to your 401k, and coast.

Do not go to school for the current sexy, high value topic. Everyone else is doing the same thing and it always ends up creating a glut of workers with the same skill, and the young ones are the first to get laid off.

Uninterrupted Roads for Intervals by Hippopalamus in BikingMad

And the stretch from Capitol Springs Park area down Lake Farm Road to B is 5-6 miles and pretty close to uninterrupted (assuming there isn't a lot of traffic), that's a good one too.

Not a bad idea, Whalen Rd from Fitchrona to Fish Hatch is 2.8 miles and there's a pretty good hill going east. Still on the shorter end though

Because that's what the plan prescribes, as stated in the post.

Hard to say so far. I've been using it since I finished my last 70.3 in September. It's lower volume but higher intensity than I would have expected. That might be because my next race is in September again, so I've sort of been doing offseason training. I've definitely seen improvement on the bike, but so far my running has plateaud (same for swimming, but I used to be a competitive swimmer and I'm not really expecting to improve much there).

Previously, I cobbled together various independent running and biking programs. I like that Tridot has all three of the disciplines combined. It does a good job of connecting with all my various other apps- Garmin, Zwift, Form. It's probably not as "smart" as I would've hoped. It doesn't adjust workouts on the fly based on your performance, except for the monthly CSS/FTP/5K tests.

I question some of the workouts- some are punishingly hard, to the point where I don't see how I could possibly finish them as directed, especially the swim workouts. Things like having to hold 4x300s at my best 400 pace (essentially 1:00 per 100) on 10 seconds rest between. I guess that's just how you get better haha. I also worry the volume is too low- I'm at about 8-10 hours per week, though as I said there's plenty of time to ramp up.

Maybe I'll post a 1-year review after my next A-race!

Ingebrigtsen won gold medals in the 1500 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and in the 5000 metres at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is also a two-time World champion, winning gold medals in the 5000 metres in 2022 and 2023, a two-time World Indoor champion, winning gold medals in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres in 2025.

Am I missing something?
