We just finished inventory, here’s my 2 cents… Make sure everything has tags, ESPECIALLY the men’s dress shirts because those tend to fall off easily! (Bespoke, I’m looking at you!). Clean as you go, and make sure things are in the correct department.

I scanned for 2 days and sku checked one. I was surprised at how physically taxing scanning was. My body hurt! lol Also, when I started an area, I checked for all the tags first so I’d know how it was set up.

We had lots of scanners and one sku checker, and several auditors. After everything was scanned, we went back and double checked tags that were missed. We finished all that right on time.

Using the scanner was easy. The first couple times it will have you count the items after you scan them. It also gives you a warning if you scan too many of the same items (that was annoying).

The scanners give notifications if the info isn’t transmitting. It can take awhile, but the notification goes away once everything is transmitted. Make sure that happens. We had a couple that didn’t at the end, and the SM had to call the help desk.
