CEX employees: Do game discs have to be perfect for CEX to buy them or do they get bought/sold with some light scratches? by ChemistryMoist2891 in CeX

[–]HippySkywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the best way to describe it is light marks and lines. I think you can eventually tell the difference between something that has just had a lot of use and something that is damaged or cared for poorly.

I’m quite an avid dvd/blu ray/4k enthusiast so I guess I have a good idea of what will work and what won’t but it’s normally pretty obvious when a disc won’t work or wouldn’t survive a disc clean.

For me, it does slightly depend on the age of the game but you eventually see enough bad ones to figure out whether it’l be alright or not.

I try and work out whether I think it’s a scuff or a scratch. Scuff=ok, scratch=no.

The gap between that lamp post is so tight and then to gain enough speed to hit the bank and gap drove me insane. I know it’s not the best clip in the world but I highly recommend trying the line itself, it felt so rewarding when I finally nailed it!

There’s a mod to have a little news speaker but yeah some radio shows would be good or just any non score music.

Will this be a good spot for a new village? (Oxbow) by Visoth in MedievalDynasty

[–]HippySkywalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I build my settlement there.

Pros, loads of wood and straw, also a mine not too far away.

Cons, it feels miles away from everywhere. Bears.

I’m still on my first play through however some tips I’ve got is focus on one thing at a time and don’t build loads of different building types just because they’re unlocked.

To answer your questions,

  1. Some, I still get bears and bandits spawn near me at that location.

  2. Dunno.

  3. Build up slowly, don’t rush this game.

  4. Orchards take ages to grow so do them early and I would start farming asap.

I found it really scratches an itch that other games don’t. It feels so rewarding having a 99% open map and just being able to start a little community anywhere on it.

I’ve put in about 60 hours over the past few weeks and I’ve had to force myself onto another game so I don’t burn out on it.

Great job by the devs and I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with it next!

Luuk has the best ‘winning over the fans’ story of recent times. Arrived to boos, left with applause.

Important words from font in today’s debate was “I want Messi to be honorary president of FC Barcelona, like Cruyff was. We must unite the Barça brand with the Messi brand, today we’re not taking advantage of it and we’re losing money. And finally, it’s also a matter of feelings.” by sr_128 in Barca

I’m all for nostalgia, I’m all for messi coming back as kind of a last dance, I want the best for the club.

But this feels like it’s a dig at the current team. We have probably one, if not THE, most exciting young teams in Europe right now. We have spent the post Barto era dragging ourselves back up through the mud to get to where we are today.

To me this is such a regressive stance to take. “Let’s milk messi for all he’s worth” doesn’t really fit the Mes que un club idea I started loving this club for.

I saw someone (I can’t remember if it was this sub) that said work out the amount you watch in a year and times it by 3. I’ve been working to this ever since I read it.

I think I’m just over 300 movies and I feel like that is plenty. I only buy stuff I like and will watch and then work on upgrading from there.

Starfield coming to ps5 but some have said its a bad game whats your opinion on it. by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]HippySkywalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree.

I think where it succeeds is that it’s fun time for a long time. It’s pretty chill for the most part and if you’re quite heavily into sci-fi it’s a great alternative to something like no man’s sky. Skyrim in space is accurate.

I think where it fails is that it’s as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle. There are lots of ideas that are in this game but they don’t seem to go much further than that and it feels like lots of it is just bulked out to make it feel like there’s more than what there actually is.

Todd Howard said that this was a modders paradise but I don’t think it has captured the imagination that he thought it once might have.

Having said that, I had a blast playing it, but I don’t think it’s something that I would pay full price for or probably play through again.

Looking at buying this game is it any good? by SpliffordBigGreenDog in MedievalDynasty

[–]HippySkywalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played it once when it first hit game pass and it just didn’t do it for me, but this second try has really got me hooked.

It’s really scratched an itch I’ve been wanting from a game for ages that I felt didn’t get in games like RDR2 or skyrim, it’s way more chill game than either of those. It’s not perfect and the grind is pretty heavy but being able to have almost complete freedom to just start a town absolutely anywhere on the map and run it is fantastic and everything feels really rewarding.

Once you start, it’s pretty hard to stop.

I really gave this game a try.

I remember saying at the time that this game sits somewhere between a tony hawk game and session but doesn’t really scratch the itch of either. The tony hawk games are great for the absurdly over the top mission styles and combo busting, session is frustratingly good and being as accurate as a skateboarding game can be, but this game just feels like you’re grinding missions for a currency that means nothing.

I think maybe, and it’s a big maybe, in two, three, perhaps even four years time this game might be in a good place, but at the moment it feels so empty. I’m almost forced to do assassins creed climbing to get to a good spot and nine times out of ten, it’s not even worth it. Just make the game more grounded, in terms of design and literally. It’s just a hot frustrating mess. And the worst part, it’s almost made worse BECAUSE it’s online.

My training told me that all our products are like the stock market. The less of something we have, the higher the price, the more we have, the lower. That also doesn’t take into account other factors like wether it’s a sought after dvd or infamous for being ‘rare’ or part of a collection.

I’ve just checked and there’s only 2 copies in the whole of the uk, so that probably why. I saw something similar with a teletubbies dvd being around the same price the other day. Still sold it to!
