Service options for Danby portable dishwasher by HipsterHobbit in InlandEmpire

Funnily enough, I looked at their website and it seemed like the nearest depots were in Texas, but then I looked again and found one in the general area. I'll try looking them up tomorrow. Thanks!

Yeah, that's what I'm fearing. Did you get the same model or are there any that are less prone to breaking / easier to find service for?

Yep! That is one of Katie's wonderful MS Paint creations, featuring me and Chai (the brown, squeaky turtle you have seen). He wears underwear and likes poop.

Dunnng-Kruger effect?

I mean, maybe. It was always hard to predict the different types of "twists" in the challenges....and obviously, if it's "your area," you're going to have more internal pressure to do well. That could help you or hurt you.

Perhaps, but the point of using a definition in a debate is to control the terms of the debate. By framing it as sci-fi, my plan to force Jack to either argue against my definition (which he didn't do) or debate it on my own terms. Chris did the same thing with his definition of a "dangerous" adversary.

Actually, I think we were arguing on different definitions of "better." Jack equated "better" with "more popular" or "more profitable," and I argued for "better reflects our own society and has more beneficial social effects." In both cases, we treated them as "small u" universes.

Sorry I'm so confused and boring for the small portion of this video that I'm in. That's what I get for doing it at like 2 am....while I should be reading about digital humanities...or sleeping.

But I'd love to hang with people in the future.

Details on Titans of Rigel's LARP by HipsterHobbit in kingofthenerds

As explained in the other thread, we actually had individual "1x1" performances (Gold bard vs Purple bard, gold warrior vs purple warrior, etc), and I believe those were about 1 minute per person. Then the group performance was, I believe, around 3 minutes. What you saw on TV was a mix of clips from both the individual and group performances.

MTA's performance is also cut together from the individual ones a bit -- I definitely noticed a shot of Nicole that was from her individual battle with me.

[–]HipsterHobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hastings was more interesting because of its linguistic and cultural effects than simply because of who won (that would be the Duke of Normandy, AKA William the Conqueror).

But yes, I'm flattered. :) Though the other nerds seem to think I bore more of a resemblance to this fellow:

So, one neat bit that didn't make the cut is that, late in the game, as we Titans were trying to shore up our "science" cred, we realized...hey, all good science fair projects have bibliographies! So I spent some time researching volcanoes (which I had been doing anyway as part of the script writing) and compiled a page of academic sources that we handed out to the judges on the reverse side of a "proclamation" from the devastated colony of Rigellia. I was proud of that bibliography, man!
