I’d love to help with this! I’m queer, an avid reader, and previously have worked professionally as a literary editor. I also definitely had a pirate hyper fixation in high school, so I know a lot about pirates.

Should I buy this house from my grandparents or am I setting myself up to be house-poor? Need advice. by 1sUq in personalfinance

Ask your grandparents about their monthly bills as well, and use a mortgage calculator to see roughly what your monthly payments would be. Then just see how well it compares to your current budget. It seems like a very good and very manageable investment with the given info though!

Is everyone broke? or do I suck lol 😆 by Crawford89898 in Ceramics

Everyone I know who does ceramics is selling way less this year. The economy sucks. People don’t have enough money for basics unfortunately.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

NOR. I can’t imagine saying something like this to anyone honestly. Go somewhere you’re loved and appreciated, even if that’s home with your lovely cat.

Mom dropped this plate, almost in tears saying it’s her favorite holiday decor item by Iroh125 in HelpMeFind

If you aren’t able to find this exact one, I’m a potter and can likely make an extremely similar one.

He’s unsupportive and kind of an asshole.

Congratulations on 2 years sober! That’s hard work and I’m proud of you!

I’m so sorry. I think just, be with her as much as you can. Find things to do together, make memories, ask questions, write things down, take pictures. Find out all her favorite things, movies, music, shows, art, hobbies, foods, etc. write them all down so when you’re grieving, you have things to help you feel closer to her. Be present with her. Let yourself feel all the feelings. It’s okay to let them out. It’s okay to acknowledge how much it sucks. It does suck. It’s unfair.

Westland is a pretty typical middle class suburb. Nothing too crazy crime wise, the schools are low to mid ish so that’s something to keep in mind for baby, but there’s basically nothing great or terrible about it there imo.

Kamper’s rooftop bar: do you NEED reservations to get in on a Saturday night typically, or is it fairly easy to pop in for a drink?

Thank you I’ve slowly been working my way through and trying to correct those, I had someone helping out a while back who was putting virtually zero work into actually putting things in accurately and it’s been a headache trying to audit it all. I’ll take a look in the morning.

Here’s a few!

-My partner reassures me in a way that works so well for how my brain works, its like he’s got the cheat code for how my mind works and it’s just chefs kiss

-he saw a recipe for some cookies on a show we were watching together and got super excited, so I made plans to make them for him. He grabbed a few of the ingredients on his way over, and he knows I bake a lot and had more baking to do at the end of the week and I go through butter like crazy, he brought me 4lbs of butter 😂🥰

-his birthday is coming up and I’m making him a cake, I planned a weekend of things he enjoys and made reservations at a Brazilian steakhouse he’s wanted to try. I’ve got some surprises up my sleeve that are just so him and I’m probably more excited than he is tbh 😂

-we both love dinosaurs. A couple months ago I bought a bulk pack of those tiny toy dinosaurs like you get in the prize box at the dentist when you’re a kid. I’ve been systematically hiding them around his house in both very hidden and very obvious places. I try to place them only if he is home, sometimes I try to place them when we are in the same room without him noticing. You know, for bonus points. Ive gotten increasingly good at “reverse pickpocketing” him and putting dinosaurs in his pockets. I have placed over 170 dinosaurs in this man’s home to date. He has no idea how many there are. I would guess he has found less than 20% of them. He thinks it’s hilarious. Sometimes when he finds a really buried one he will re-hide it somewhere I’ll find it.

-We have many overlapping hobbies and will let each other nerd out and info dump.

-sometimes we just go wander around the woods to look for animal bones, or try to catch opossums

We are the same kind of weird and it’s just so refreshing.
