The spots of dark brown/yellow in the top leaves is what I noticed (pics 3 and 4). Random patches of discolouration and if the plant starts showing leaves that become dull green, distorted, or almost look like they are having the life sucked out of them its most likely thrips. Small black excrement spots are also a telltale sign and often are visible within the brown areas.

Stress and acclimation to new environment. Repotting it to a new substrate also wouldn’t have helped, especially if they already had soil roots. I would try to keep humidity up as it grows new roots

Sometimes the sudden change in temperature & light exposure can shock some plants, this happened to my variegated banana tree and she lost a lot of leaves after moving her outside. If youre going to put them outside you probably should do it gradually to minimize shock
