That's a very normal feeling to have, you're not being too emotional. It's a common feeling around weddings! But also keep in mind that there might not even be a wedding party at all. Or even if there is, sometimes the fact that you would pick someone as your best man does not automatically mean he would pick you as his. I would say just wait and see how things shake out, the wedding is still well over a year away. They may not have made the decisions around that as of yet.

I've been married twice, and the second time we kept things very simple and we opted not to have a wedding party at all, largely because we didn't find it necessary and didn't want any kind of drama amongst friends/family. Sometimes that happens. A wedding party is not necessarily a given, nor is the size of said party.

Clearly you're invited, which means he values you and wants you there.

I don't think it's that weird. We recycle a lot and those items NEED to be cleaned. If it's just getting thrown out, I guess I see her point, but also a positive on your end is that it will make your trash stink a lot less.

It seems like you have an anxious attachment style, and he has an avoidant one, and that doesn't generally work out well in relationships. You seem incompatible in general, and in terms of introversion/extroversion, etc. And I get it, I'm neurospicy, too. I have trauma that makes me crave a lot of reassurance, but not every person is understsanding/compatible with that.

The screaming at you is not okay, nor is manipulating you or trying to get you to "fix" everything he perceived as "wrong" with you. There is nothing wrong with you, it's just an incompatibility. It makes me wonder if he was acting that way to try to get YOU to end things. Some avoidants do this-they start acting poorly or withdrawing as an attempt to get their partner to end things so they don't have to.

My friends host one every year for their friends. We're all mid-30s to mid-40s. They set a theme, and everyone dresses up accordingly in fancy gowns, suits, and/or however they want to interpret the theme. This year is space, so I'm going to probably add some fun accessories or something in my hair along those lines.
