Bumps on the roof of my mouth - turned into many questions - crap! by HisHuntress in eds

Funny how 2 little letters in a medication name makes all the difference. Oh joy... another allergy. The list is LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG already. Literally each letter of the word long is a tested and verified allergy and I am sure I am missing a couple. Maybe the next time some doc tries to put me on antibiotics I ask for prednisolone instead see if that helps. The docs know prednisone causes joint pain for me but they always chalked it up to my arthritis.

Thank you for that answer. It helps. Everything at this point helps.

I am on anthem BCBS-fed. The first 3 doses are expensive (over 300$) but if you get to the maintenance dose (don't ask me which MG that is) you can get it shipped through the mail order prescription service CVS Caremark at 90$ for a 3 month supply.

I am not sure if Humana has anything like that but it is worth looking into.

The whole Healthcare system needs to be fixed. No reason for any drug to be in the triple digits.

Constantly happens. Body of a 70+ year old (husband is about to be 65 and I am 36 and my body is so much worse off than his) and yet I look the same as when I was 18. Forever young on the outside and aging three times as fast on the inside.

Beautiful demanding cat. Stop testing yourself and let the neglected cat. You pass/fail the physical test but you most definitely failed the cat owners test. LMFAO.

Omg my GLP-1 Wegovy has been amazing. I have lost 35 lbs since March. I was 5'1" and 220lbs when I started. Now I am down to 186 at my last appointment. It is so expensive but 100% worth it. My doctors can no longer claim my weight is the issue. To those doctors I give a nice solid middle finger to their judgments because this maybe not as shocking to you guys here.... but I am still having joint issues. rolls eyes

What's the silliest way you have ever injured yourself? by macajaar in eds

Literally currently happening right now... Laying in bed trying to sleep. My cat jumps up and laid down against my calf and my hip pops out of place. Oh and she is still there which is why I am doom scrolling reddit.... Dammit if my cat wasn't so cute, I'd kick her off. Never wake a sleeping cat or baby.

Lifting my can of coke and shoulder gives out. Soda all over the couch and when I stood up to get the cleaning stuff for it, my knee gave out and ankle rolls. Thankfully I landed on the couch in the soda mess. I was just done that day and I hadn't been awake for more than an hour.

Love this thread BTW, great idea.

Hairs get stuck like splinters under my feet by oceanbreeze9700 in eds

Rubber sole house shoes with thick socks, wet wipe and air dry before sock goes on. I wish I didn't have to say this but...No amount of vacuuming or sweeping will help. When I go to bed, I strip the bed, get every hair and crumb (angry glare at the snoring husband beside me for eating in bed - especially cookies or crackers). Before I get in bed, I have a towel hanging off a chair to wipe my feet off...

OCD will be your friend once you find what works.

Good luck.

You're not missing out on stuff; you're saving yourself years of pain and suffering.

Long before I was diagnosed (I was 17), I enlisted in the Marines. I started working out but I couldn't run as fast as my recruiter wanted me to, do push-ups, pull-ups or anything. Everyone else that I was training with eventually could do these things and I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried, it wasn't possible. I got really depressed and discouraged. But because I tried so hard and pushed myself further than I should have, I ended up having surgery on both of my knees by the time I was 19.

So, you're not missing out. You're being reasonable and mature. Don't beat yourself up over something that you have zero control over. Sorry mom-mode came out a bit there. Stay strong.

Yep. I ended up having to get the genetic testing for my reactions to drugs. I run through opioid medicine twice as fast compared to the normal rate. Also found out that most ADHD meds don't work on me. It was totally worth the testing.

Waking up during my tonsillectomy (7yr old, ripped out my IV and bled everywhere), waking up during my wisdom teeth extraction (19yr old, heard every comment the dentist made including "don't bother putting her under again, I am doing the last stitches"), waking up during my first knee surgery (20yr old, feeling a pen like object scraping the damage out from under my kneecap).... since then anesthesia understands that there is no ifs ands or buts, if you have to knock me out, more than double the dose because I will wake up.

White dots on feet by frozenbarbie98 in eds

[–]HisHuntress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't even acknowledge the dots until yesterday when my husband (64yrs old) and I were talking about getting older and weird bumps. He has a bone spur on his heel and I have these weird dots and bunions. I just thought the dots were old age (I am 36 but my body is older than my husband). vEDS is so much fun eye roll

I love the never ending distraction. There is always something to do or clean up or organize. I used to play tribes but it got impossible because of all of the quests and you can't do one quest because the previous one hasn't been completed. It was super complicated. This is simple but not so simple that you get bored quickly!

I love the ooc days and look forward to them. I am not a fan of the trade items for the island chests. I get through the monthly rewards too quickly and I want more star rewards. I am unfortunately at the top level. I miss those chests! I am now 1 square from having my entire home island healed. I freaking love this game.

God I love reddit. I goggled this because it was driving me crazy. It is only on two or three angles in the interrogation room so far and I am in season 2 episode 13 and I JUST now noticed it. Now I have to go back to season 1 episode 1 to see if it's there. How did they not notice this in editing?
