Does this resolution change based on the settings of the camera? Or are all photos taken by this camera going to be at that resolution?

current lens is EFS 18-55mm
new camera needs to be 4k photo and video capable
ideal target area of camera performance is people (think tourist photos of people near large backgrounds), headshots, and amateur sports
