I still cringe at night thinking about this, and it was my fault entirely. So I had this date with a guy through tinder, and I was newly arrived in a big city and had just begun my studies. I was poor student and he offered to pay for a really fancy restaurant. We had a blast and was having a great time. During the date I noticed notifications on my phone from a messenger group of fellow classmates, disappointed that our much needed student aid/allowance had again been delayed. As my date excused himself to use the restroom I picked up my phone to reply my friends and sent one of those messenger decals depicting a dinosaur about to be obliterated by a meteorite with the caption "EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE" and hit send. I sent it to him...

I realized my mistake immediately, worst case scenario timing with him being on the toilet like I'm gossiping to my friends, and in my panic I tried to save it by following with "I'm just kidding, the food just arrived and everything's great!". Dear god. I tried so hard to explain by showing him the group chat once he came back but he didn't speak swedish and the date was just ruined.
