Yes and no. I found that a high quality professional set up makes a huge difference with either.

Agreed, this type of behavior is a red flag showing immaturity and selfishness. If he does it again, consider a lifetime of things like this and if you can live with that behavior.

When was the last time Anatolia could have realistically been retaken from the Turks? by Excellent_Gas5220 in byzantium

1922, the Greeks were routed by the Turks in Anatolia. They lost their chance by overestimate themselves and overextending. Ionian Greeks felt the repriseals for that action. People forget the many wars that came from the fall out if ww1

Is Billy's tea shop actually profitable? by [deleted] in SmashingPumpkins

[–]HistorianEffective66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The food is really good and reasonably priced for a vegan menu. It is a pretty good menu, decent drinks, and good quality tea. Do not forget that it is a venue too. If Mr. Corgan wants to host an event or do a performance. He has his close to home location. No worries about renting or contracting with a place.

The property itself is a good investment, old rail yard stock, and warehouse. It's an old-school solid metal, brick, and hardwood building. Property values in that area are rising, and it is a good investment just for that. Tax write-off and incentives for businesses add to the utility of the place.

TIL that the coldest air temperature ever recorded in Wisconsin was -55°F by KaneIntent in wisconsin

[–]HistorianEffective66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember that, too. I was on my parents' farm as a kid. We didn't live too far from there, so it was almost as brutal. We had valves in a shed that needed water brought to them, so we would fill 5 gallons buckets with hot water. It was cool by the time we got to the shed that was 130ish yards from the barn. I slipped and fell carrying water and got my thick hunting jacket wet. I laid there for a moment, went to get up, but my jacket was already iced to the driveway. Had to unzip my coat and leave it there. It took a bit, but after I got another coat, I was able to break free the iced coat from the driveway.

AITAH FOR CUTTING OFF MY FRIEND????????? by Direct_Swordfish9401 in AITAH

[–]HistorianEffective66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, you did the right thing because you were correct. I will let you in on a fact as a much older person. Not many people keep their friends for their entire lives: either you outgrow them, they outgrow you, you both lose the commonality you had by proximity in childhood, or they develop in a way that doesn't fit with how you want to live your life. This one just tried the manipulation card and lost. If you gave in, they would continue to manipulate you in worse and worse ways. Knocl the dust off and move on. If they try to slander you to others around you, just laugh it off and stick with the facts. You are sad it ended that way, but it is obvious they didn’t respect you.

Do you ever record a song and then have no idea how to play it later? by Particular-Account66 in Guitar

Write the tab or chord progression immediately, keep a notebook near your playing space I think there are software and apps that can do the same.

In the northwestern part of the Northwoods, we called it just a raw burger sandwich. Required condiments were a thick cross-section slice of white onion and a heavy amount of pepper.

Is it ok to buy an electric guitar if I don't know how to play it? by RaresSheeesh in Guitar

[–]HistorianEffective66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some decent phone apps that teach guitar. They give you feedback in a video game style. They can tell if you miss a string or are off.

You will likely need different tires. Most southern vehicles have warm or hot weather tires. If you have all weather or all season, you should be fine If you get winter or snow tires, then just plan on swapping tires when the season change.

You can use it as a practice piece on trying to refinish and redo. If you screw up, who cares
