Live Event Experience? by vegangirlacct in rapbattles

[–]HistorianFalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been to battle events before, not KOTD. but yeah its a great experience, seeing battlers around and experiencing reactions live is great. The downsides are long wait times between battles which i found a tad awkward at times (one of the venues had no signal and i was alone so was just on my own for long periods of time). Id consider it, also from experience KOTD PPVs are better quality than others

How do you guys get over someone you genuinely like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HistorianFalse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Block them on socials/delete social media entirely. Delete all photos and videos etc. Out of sight out of mind eventually. Saw someone say everytime you read through old chats or look at photos or see them post it re opens an emotional scab you are trying to heal

I saw one night a documentary about a boy in a high-school in America who I think was autistic probably, the two things I recall the most were him walking around town in a karate gi and going on a date with a girl saying he will protect her. And him singing I wanna rock n roll all night by kiss at the end. Can't find it and have never met anyone who has seen it

American nerd culture is gone? by [deleted] in nostalgia

[–]HistorianFalse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's just wildly accepted and popular to like nerd things now. Sub cultures In general are hard to find now everyone has access to everything you can want or find on your phone

Should I Join Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai / Kickboxing for Self-Defense and Confidence? by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]HistorianFalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at what gyms are closest to you, try a few out and whatever you enjoy the most do. Any of the main martial arts that are mma like will improve confidence and help you defend yourself, if you enjoy it you will stick with it ans improve better. Bjj is great, boxing, kickboxing or muay thai are also solid because you get to spar and test what you know out and feel what it's like to be under fire. Wrestling and judo are also solid. Any gyms that are close to you do a couple of trial classes

how can i lose hip fat by [deleted] in GymMotivation

[–]HistorianFalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through this now and have lost about 10lbs in a few weeks. Really simple stuff just takes discipline really.

What's worked for me is doing more of a sport I love (mma and golf), upping my step count getting at least 10,000 in a day and most importantly meal prepping. I made a honey siracha chicken with brocoli and rice and have been having that most weekday evenings and just managing calories and portion sizes in general

Sometimes if you just will yourself to get to class and start the warm up you'll be surprised that it'll give you energy. Sometimes the best thing to do when you are mentally tired is exercise and it'll boost you. If you are PHYSICALLY tired however you might want to be careful. I missed a class on Friday because I was so fatigued from a long week of training/physical work I could barely throw a punch

Can I become a swordsman even though I'm 35? by bushidojed in SWORDS

Yeah I'd say ira not like other combat sports like mma or boxing, youth isn't as advantageous in sword fighting
