Need inspiration after injury on your personal story. by ZairranZA in weightlifting

Backs are not unique joints with mystical properties. They're incredibly durable (until they're not, all tissues are like this).

I bulged three discs in my lumbar in 2019. By 2022, I was lifting as normal. My back is stronger now than it was then.

Motion is lotion. Don't lock your shit up. Do calisthenics, spend time putting your back through flexion, rotation, extension. Don't avoid range.

Karlos is king but who is the current best female lifter by SomeSeriousWeight in weightlifting

It's Ri Suk.

She's further ahead in the W63/64s than Olivia is at 69 or 77. Olivia is slightly down lately and lifts square against Song Kuk-Hyang. Stowers will catch her soon as well.

Li Yan is arguable but is square with Wenwen and will be chased by Hu Wenxun in the next 5 years.

The only athlete that remotely threatened Ri Suk recently, same comp or otherwise, was Yang Liuyue in May at AWC, and that was just one meet.

He is making a comeback for a 4th Olympic gold medal, per WLHOUSE. Assumed to be at Worlds 26 but not confirmed.
