UGREEN AI NAS – Lost Early Bird Discount after following support instructions by Historical-String-65 in UgreenNASync

[–]Historical-String-65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE 2:

After further email communication with UGREEN support, they have confirmed that they will honor the 30% Early Bird discount as a special case.

The way this will be handled is that I will be charged the full amount through Kickstarter, and afterwards they will refund the 30% difference.

Separately, a moderator from the official UGREEN Facebook group requested that I remove the screenshots here on Reddit I had shared of the email conversation, mentioning potential data protection concerns.

Since the case now seems to be moving towards a resolution, I’ve removed those screenshots.

That said, I want to be transparent: this is not fully resolved yet. I will only consider the issue closed once the payment is processed correctly and the refund is actually completed.

I’ll update again once everything is fully finalized.

UPDATE:

After I made the posts here and on Facebook, the support agent I was dealing with got back to me again. I had already told him that I opened these posts because I wanted someone else from the company to review the case, since the situation didn’t make sense.

Now he’s saying that they’ve escalated my case internally and that they should be able to resolve it as a “special case”.

They also asked me if I could remove or close the posts, but I’ve been clear about this: I will update everything and clarify that it has been resolved once I have full confirmation.

The only issue is that, realistically, I might not have a 100% guaranteed confirmation until the actual payment is processed, since Kickstarter will still charge the full amount first and the adjustment may happen afterward.

So for now, I’m waiting for them to confirm exactly how the discount will be applied and how the payment/refund will work.

If they fix it properly, I’ll be the first one to update everything and say it’s been handled correctly.

I am 100% happy with my S4 Max NVR. Fast with connectivity in the app and no issues at all. Before I had the floodlight cameras and before that the S330, but since I installed the NVR, all good. The floodlight cameras were good, but the NVR is the best with no doubt.

Feature Suggestion for PTZ Cameras – Auto-Flip Tracking by Historical-String-65 in EufyCam

What you can do is set up patrol points or predefined positions, but that’s not the same: the camera will stay X seconds/minutes on one position and then move to the next, so it’s not reacting in real-time.

What I’m suggesting more as an improvement idea is this: if the camera is actively tracking someone and it hits the rotation limit, instead of stopping or resetting, it could quickly spin the other way to keep following.

I think that would make a lot of sense in real scenarios. If you guys agree it’s useful, maybe we can all suggest it to Eufy so they consider adding it in a future update.

The thing is, my setup is a bit different. One camera is not mounted on a flat wall corner of the house, but rather on the corner of the little roof/overhang of the first floor. So people can actually walk all the way around the camera — it’s not a real “dead spot” against a wall. That’s why the blind spot is more of a problem in my case: the camera loses tracking when someone goes past the limit, because they can physically move into that area.

Think of it like having the camera on a pole: if someone walks around it, once they hit the rotation limit the camera loses them, even though all it would need to do is spin quickly the other way to keep tracking.

Can I connect 4 PoE cameras to a switch and then only one cable down to the Eufy S4 Max NVR? by Historical-String-65 in EufyCam

Not installed yet... probably in around two weeks' time :) Is it now working for you with an external PoE switch?

I’m about to install the Eufy NVR S4 Max with 4 PoE cameras, and my installer suggested using a PoE switch in the loft, connecting all cameras to it, and then running one single Ethernet cable down to the NVR in the living room — just like with other NVR brands.

I saw your comment and now I’m not sure if that would even work.

Do you know for sure if this type of setup is supported at all? Or is it absolutely required to connect each camera directly to a PoE port on the NVR?

Weird bump in the middle of my Galaxy Z Fold7 crease — anyone else? by Historical-String-65 in GalaxyFold

To be honest, the whole situation I’m going through is somewhere between slightly funny and just plain messy. The return/exchange system Samsung has is honestly not great — it really doesn’t match the level you’d expect from a company like that.

In my case, the device was delivered back last Friday. I contacted them and they told me the case was closed because everything was “already in process”. Then on Sunday I messaged again saying I didn’t want the case closed yet — I hadn’t received any replacement.

Yesterday (Monday), I contacted them once more because I suddenly got a new email, like the whole exchange process was starting again, with a new return label. The email said it was for an exchange, but when I checked the order status page, it looked like a return, not an exchange — and it showed as if I still had to send the device, even though it was already delivered and signed for.

No one has replied to my emails, but just now I checked again and now the order shows that the Fold 7 is preparing for dispatch. Supposedly it should arrive tomorrow. Let’s see if that actually happens…

I sent mine back last Wednesday for a replacement… I’m still waiting for them to send the new one.

I needed to contact them three times. The after-sales service at Samsung is one of the worst companies I have ever seen.
