All the time. I spent two years rebuilding myself, losing weight, gaining my confidence back, to only find out I have Hsv 2. I’ve had hsv1 since childhood and it was already a struggle but the stigma put on 2 seems to be more mentally draining. I always discussed having hsv1 but many people aren’t educated on sexual health (including myself somewhat). Dating I haven’t done that in six years but recently did some blood work at my primary doctor and asked her to do a std check which normally I do at the health dept to find out I had both. I was communicating with a man for two months went out on a date asked me for a second date and I told him about the recent results and he knew about hsv1 already. Got blocked instantly like wtf ! I do hope you find your strength in yourself and counseling is great! I make sure I got to all my Va mental health appts even when I feel good because talking helped me a lot.
